Any Recs for a Safe Facial Moisturizer?

I thought I was in the clear with my facial moisturizer. I use Anew Rejuvenate by Avon. But I just looked it up on SkinDeep.com and found that they are both in the moderate-to-high risk zone. I don't know how I missed this earlier. Now I need something new asap. I found a few on SkinDeep that seem to be good, but I looked them up on Sephora and the prices are outrageous ($50+).

Does anyone have any recommendations for a face lotion that doesn't contain salicylic acid, retinoids or Vitamin A? I saw that someone asked something similar last week, but there were only two responses. TIA if you have any suggestions :-)

  • I LOVE Dr. Pat Wexler's Skin Brightening SPF 30 Lotion. Available at Bath and Body Works. Not sure the price though

  • I just use plain old Oil of Olay (the pink bottle), that is what some girls on here suggested. ? Of course I use a toner with Salicylic Acid, because you would have to practically have a full body peel with the stuff to affect your baby.

  • I use the Stilla line from Sephora and I love it.
  • I use Oil of Olay in a little jar. I got Neutrogena oil free sensitive but it makes me break out like crazy, not what I need right now!

  • I use Oil of Olay moisturizer and their night cream.  Love them!
  • Yep. Oil of olay for sensitive skin with a  15spf.
  • I use Purpose face soap and moisturizer. Found at any drug/grocery store. I had reallllly acne prone skin and it balanced my pH level and I hardly ever break out any more. It is also "as gentle as water".
  • I LOVE Dr.Haushka Rose Day Cream. It is totally safe and holistic, about $40 but so worth it. I don't think Oil of Olay is safe as far as the chemicals you are talking about.
  • It really all depends on your skin type and what you are looking for ......

for normal ... rarely breakout ... CHEAP and spf .... I usually recommend Cetaphil or Eucerin to my clients (when I did facials)

there are 5 million moisturizers out there ,,,, just depends on needs and budget ....

  • Bare Minerals makes an amazing moisturizer. Like all their make up its all natural and has done WONDERS for my skin, been using it for about 3 years now and absolutely love it! You can buy it at Sephora, and it lasts forever! hth! Smile

  • Thanks everyone! My skin is slightly sensitive and breaks out a little, but not much. I hope switching moisturizers doesn't change that! I'm sure I can find something to use from your recommendations. There are just so many options to choose from, so a little insight from others really helps.
  • I just use pure Aloe Vera (like you normally use for sunburns).  Very moisturizing all by itself with no extra ingredients, and it seems for me anyways to have clarifying properties.
