My poor pup either pulled or tore a ligament in her leg yesterday so we took her to the Emergency Animal Hospital. Of course I was a crying mess because whenever she tried to walk, she would whine/cry loudly. But then there were full on sobs when I had to watch two different couples walk out of there after their beloved pets had to be put down. Thankfully, I got out of the room before they saw me because the last thing I am sure they wanted to see was me crying over my dog and for them. Ugh.
Re: NBR: Animal ER + Pregnant Lady = Bad
I know just how you feel. Mine hurt his hip a few weeks ago and I called DH crying at 3am (He was at work/asleep at the fire station) because Rusty hurt his hip and the vet didn't open until 7:30am.
How is she doing now?
That's hard. I had to go to the ER vet 3 times in a month and I hated going before being pregnant, I don't think I could handle it now.
I hope your pup is on the mend.
I hear ya! We have a dog and 4 cats, I am a mushy mess with them if I fear sickness or injury!
I hope she gets well soon!
BTW.....have you ever been to the upstate local board? Great group of girls!
Sheri,
I hope your dog is doing OK. (((HUG))) And I understand how you felt. The week after my BFP, my husband and I had to rush his elderly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel to the e-Vet hospital and we ended up having to put her down. It was so traumatizing and I had to rush to the bathroom because (sorry for TMI) I got the runs from stress.
Our pets are our babies too. So hard when they're in pain.

She is okay overall. They have her on muscle relaxers and pain medications for the time being. She didn't want us near her yesterday before we took her, but she is warming up more today. She is actually laying next to me on the floor on a blanket and pillow and wants me to pet her every so often, so that leads me to believe that she is feeling a little better. I just got done making a "nest" for her of her favorite toys because she seemed bored and is now chewing on a bone. Hopefully some dog bed-rest will do her some good and she'll be good to go in a week or so.
Thanks for the kind words of support, it is appreciated.
It is aweful...I know exactly how you feel. Last week our lab (my big baby!) broke his leg while we were away for the day. I came home and he was bleeding (open fracture) and of course I completely freak out and panic.
Then we had to leave him at the animal ER overnight b/c he had to have surgery the very next day. I bawled like a baby when we said good bye to him...plus he just looked at me with those droopy pitiful eyes. He's okay now, but at the time I was a wreck. Although I'm sure I would have even if I wasn't pregnant! lol
We had to take one of our cats in for a UTI/blockage in January, and I was a mess. I'm always emotional about animals in distress, but the pregnancy hormones didn't help. I'm so glad we went at a slow hour (it was like 3am) because if there had been anyone there putting an animal down, I would have completely lost my shiit. We've had to go in during busy hours before and I had to keep my head in DH's chest almost the whole time to keep from being a snotty mess, and I wasn't even pregnant then.?
I hope your puppy feels better soon! ?
