This is our first FET cycle. We have 16 (2 cell)embryos frozen and are just in the beginning stages of the cycle. When we met with our RE, she recommended we thaw half of the embryos (8), let them grow for 3 or 5 days and then pick the best
one(s) to transfer. She said this will give us the best chance for pregnancy since they will be able to choose the very best embryos. I'm kind of reluctant to thaw that many, though. They don't refreeze so the ones that we don't transfer will just be discarded. If there are only 2 that make it, that's fine, but what if 4 make it and look good? Then we are just wasting 2 good embryos. I know the chances of getting a perfect one increases with the number they thaw, but it's just such a gamble. What do you all think? How many would you thaw and how many would you transfer? Our RE will only transfer 2 max, but says if we have one that looks perfect, she could do just that one. I just turned 35 and have no other issues that I know of.
