Hi Everyone,
I'm a DC nestie looking for recommendations for a Baltimore friend. She's pregnant and due in August, and she's very interested in exploring a homebirth. Does anyone have any recommendations for certified midwives who do homebirths in the Baltimore area? Even better if they have hospital priviledges.
Thanks!
Re: XP: Baltimore-Area Homebirth Recommendations?
have you asked this question on the mothering.com local board? I bet you would get a ton of answers.
From what I have read, having a midwife with hospital privileges defeats the purpose of a homebirth, because that is the way they are going to want you to go. But I would ask on mothering.com discussion board first.
I would suggest Alternative Birth Choices in Catonsville. Evelyn is wonderful, as is the other mid-wife, Susan. Keep in mind that Evenlyn is VERY PRO homebirth. She does have admitting privileges at Mercy, just in case something were to go wrong and she will NOT deliver your baby at home unless you are low-risk.
Good luck!
