Pregnant after a Loss

first u/s panic attack coming on!

My first ultrasound is at 3:00 today.  I am so friggin nervous, I can't even think!!!!!  I was sick all weekend, and I've been mildly crampy since yesterday.  Please remind me that cramps at the 6-7 week mark usually are normal and indicate growth.  See, I know that, but it would be a huge help to hear it from someone else.  Also, remind me that the funky colored brownish discharge is from the crinone, and normal as well!!!!!

I don't know if I want time to go quickly so I can meet my baby, or slowly because I am so freaking terrified I might get back news!

  • Oh honey I know just how you feel!  I'm not even going to tell you to relax because I know it's totally impossible.  I'm not just saying this, it's really true: cramps and spotting are normal!!  I had both of those at my 1st u/s and everything went as well as possible.  I've been spotting for 2 weeks and it just stopped this weekend, but my Turkey is just fine in there - cooking up just right!  I'm sure everything will be the same for you.

Also, I have decided to make my future u/s appts. earlier in the day so I don't spend all day stressing.

  • Everything is going to be fine, and you're going to look at that screen and see your itty-bitty with a swooshing heartbeat! I had massive cramps around 6-7 weeks. They started dying down around 8 weeks.

You get to see your baby today!!!

Congratulations! It's going to be wonderful.

I had my first u/s at 6w 6d, too, and I could barely breathe all morning before I went in. So I feel your pain. But all was fine! It's just a blob there, but you should be able to see the heart beating!!! Have fun!! :)
