Let me start by saying that I'm one of those people that love hand me downs, not just for baby but for myself also.
So this weekend G received a bag of hand me downs from a mom at our church. They look practically new and are very cute. The mom tucked a note inside however that says she would like to have them back when G outgrows them.
This is the problem - G has received hand me downs from his cousin and another boy at church. He has alot of hand me downs. I don't know how on earth I'm going to 1) remember to give them back and 2) remember which items are hers and 3) keep G from staining them. Though I could just dot the tag to take care of #2.
WWYD? I accepted them, but I don't know if I should use them.
Re: Hand me down Advice Needed
Too many strings attached to those hand-me-downs! I wouldn't want to worry about ruining the clothes. I would just give them back.
BTW I have asked for hand me downs from my DD back before but that was just a special dress or halloween outfit that I let someone borrow not a whole load of regular clothes.
This is what I did with some friend's maternity clothes. They didn't really fit me, and I had plenty, so I just put them aside and gave them back later and told her thanks! If I lent baby stuff to someone and wanted it back, I would personally NEVER expect it to come back in great condition...babies are messy! So, I would relieve yourself of any pre-guilt on that matter. IF you asked to borrow stuff of hers, then I'd say, feel obligated to take good care of it...but not if they foist stuff upon you.
