Pregnant after 35

Registered Finally

SO I have been putting off going to Babies R Us, mostly because in the beginning I didn't want to jinx myself. and recently because I need my sister to go with me.

I went to get a bra and as I was walking through the newborn clothing section, I got all teary eyed & choked up. I am actually afraid that when me & my sister go to start scanning things I am going to cry like a baby. I did register while I was there. I may get it started online along with reviewing the Baby Bargains.

My DH will also have to go with me to help me choose some larger items. I wonder if he'll get emotional?

Re: Registered Finally

  • Honey- bring some tissues and CRY AWAY!    If you're not entitled to get emotional now??  WHEN are you!?  LOL!

Have a great time with that scanner and be sure to register for at least ONE insane thing that is just a serious "want" and not a "need".    You never know :)

  • Awww! That's so exciting!!!!  You're certainly entitled to get all emotional. And it'll be wonderful to go with your sister.

My husband and I plan to register next weekend. It took me a while to convince him that Jewish people can register. We don't want a lot in our home before our baby is born, but I do want a glider before the birth after my friend said she ended up sleeping in hers the last weeks of pregnancy.

  • Awww... It's sweet that you got all emotional. My response top BRU was more of being overwhelmed. Getting started online was a great way of relieving the stress of initially registering, and I've since been back to a store with my mom.
  • I took my DH to register for larger items.  Once he got the hang of it, he started saying that we needed to register for all of this unnecessary stuff!  When I told him, "No," he was so disappointed that I just let him scan away and then I deleted it once I got home!  He'll never know.Wink

Robyn-I don't understand why you wouldn't register if you are Jewish. Don't Jewish women have showers? Are you very strict?

While I'm not very strict, religiously speaking, most Jewish women don't have baby showers. It's a superstition type deal. While I know a few who have, my family would freak and I sincerely doubt anyone is going to throw me one. But I'd still like to register, in case someone wants to buy us gifts.
