Help! Ear infection/ache?

Bryn has had a missserable weeekend. CONSTANT crying/wining, putting her finger in her ear. Not like her at all.

I've just been doin tylenol. Anything else i can do for her?

    Yes alternate motrin and tylenol every 2 hours and take her to the dr first thing in the morning!

    call your ped - they might be able to call in antibiotics.

    And you really shouldn't alternate every 2 hours - that ends up giving the motrin doses too soon... motrin is every 6 hours, and tylenol is every 4.  I do like to alternate motrin and tylenol, but you still need to watch the dosing instructions.

    When we'd get ear infections when we were little (and still now if i get an ear ache), a warm, moist washcloth over the ear often helps.

    I've had 2 peds both ok the motrin every 4 hours.

     

    Mine was pretty adament to not do it that often.   So it's worth a call to your ped about making dosing changes then...

    Get her into the doc, asap.  My son went from a mild ear infection in one ear to a bad double ear infection, and that was WITH antibiotics.
