DH and I both really like nature names. We like Willow and Lily a lot, but we're not sure if one of those is 'the' name. What's your favourite nature name?

i love nature names! every time i post on here, though, people are like "that's not a name, it's a word!" i like willow and lily but i've heard them way too much to use them. my favorite name for a girl is bay, which will be the name of our first girl. for boys, (most of you will hate them, just a warning) i love fox, wolf (dh likes it spelled wolfe), field, moonglow, and i like the nickname bunny for a girl.
i am german, so that's why i love wolf, and native american, hence the other names. at least that's my excuse, i'm hardly native american so i just say that if people act like the names are odd.
as far as too popular in our area/ trendy nature names that i would not use but still like: river, birch, lake, reed, bear, winter, and meadow (for a girl, too bad it spiked in poularity after being on sopranos).

I actually like nature names; it must be the bohemian in me. I went to school with four sibilings who's parents were ex-hippies and they each had nature names - Skye, Storm, Starr, and Snow. I really like the name Snow, actually. And I love the names Winter and Autumn.
As for Willow and Lily, they are beautiful but much too common.

We call my cat bear because he's black and huge. I cannot even imagine a person named this.?

i wouldn't name a person that either, we know someone named bear and i'm not sure what his parents were thinking. i like it for an animal and maybe a nickname when he's little.

Moonglow. Really?! Are you, perchance, reeking of patchouli and wearing a tiedyed shirt? That is awful.

haha i laughed when i read this because of course today is the first time in FOREVER i decided to lounge around in a tie-dye shirt. oops! i'm totally not a hippie, but since all our other names are so "normal" (in my opinion) and because dh is a republican politician in oklahoma (read: boring and extremely traditional state), i sometimes fantasize about mixing it up with a crazy name like that. don't worry, i'm not really going to name my baby that.

The NM Bunny sounds like a stripper. imo
i agree. i think it would only be suitable for a really little girl, although i know several elderly women who go by bunny.
