Super baby hold?

I believe thats what it is called.  I know it's supposed to help with gas and with colicky babies.  Can someone explain this to me?  tia

    I think you are talking about the football hold. Here is DH holding DD at the pedi's office in the football hold.

    We call it Superman hold, too! When he was a newborn it was closer to a real football hold, but it takes both arms these days. It definitely helps, even more so when daddy does it.

    Wow, stellablue, way to have a picture demonstrating the hold on hand!  That's a perfect depiction of what to do.  Our DD likes it when Dad does this too :-)

    Yup, it's the football hold...I face DS the other way though and hold his head in my other hand because he's too big and heavy for me to have him on just one arm... butt by my elbow, body laying on my forearm, hand on his chest, then the other hand supporting his head. ?HTH!
