Good price to ask for a used breast pump?

I have two friends who are pregnant, both due in about a month.  They have been buying a lot of my old baby stuff off me, and I screwed myself on my Graco Travel System, asking only $60 for it, but I did use it through two kids so I guess I'll let it go, LOL.

Anyway, I have a Medela Pump In Style from 2006 that I was going to offer to them, but I have NO IDEA what to ask for this.  It's still in great condition, but if they are sqeamish about the parts having been used they will have to replace them.  Does $80 sound like a fair deal???

  • I would say $80 is a fair price.  They are pretty hard to sell used though so I would get what you can for it.  I am giving my pump to my SIL to use for her baby and then she will give it back.  They don't sell well on Craiglist either it seems.

  • I think that sounds pretty fair.  You could check ebay to see what they are going for on there.
  • I thought you couldn't replace the parts on the Pump In Style and that's why they encourage you not to get those used. I think anything you can get for that would be better than nothing. I guess I'm particular about these things but I wouldn't use a used breast pump.

The milk is not touching the pump itself.  You can sterilize or get new tubing and milk receptacles.

  • You can get new tubing.  I got mine from the hospital.  I think $80 is fair. I sold my Pump In Style for $75 off of Craigslist and it was a 2006.   I thought I would have a hard time selling it but I got a ton of responses.
