Pregnant after a Loss

when did you start to "feel pregnant"?

I know that I am still very early, but I thought for sure I would start to feel "different"? I still feel perfectly normal! I mean except for being sleepy 99% of the time and sore bb's. Anyway, when did you really start to "feel" pregnant? When you started showing? When you got m/s? Excuse me if this is a dumb question, but I am really overanalyzing everything at the moment. I constantly wonder whether my baby is still doing okay in there, and regardless of my awesome #'s and starting P4 supp's, I'm still a nervous a wreck.

TIA ladies.

Re: when did you start to "feel pregnant"?

  • The m/s started full swing around 7wks and got worse week 8.  (really it is afternoon and night sickness)  I still don't feel all that pregnant though and it worries me.  I can't wait to have my u/s tomorrow and make sure everything is ok with the baby.  I am in desperate need of reassurance!

    1st pregnancy: m/c began 1/12/09 d&c 1/13/09 8wks. Baby stopped growing at about 6wks.

    Delaney: Born 10/15/09

    Gavin: Born 4/8/11

    Baby #3: due July 10, 2014

  • Cora....you and I are on the SAME exact page today...

I woke up this morning, rubbed my belly and was like....why don't I FEEL different...why isn't my tummy getting bigger (I feel bloated, but that is about it).....why am I not feeling sick....and my bb's are really not even that sore...I am sleepy all the time and vacumming and mopping the floor yesterday WORE me out;)

I am still crampy a few times a day so I am holding on to that as a sign that my litte bean is still in there making my body respond by saying what the heck is going on in here....we gotta make room for that thing:)

I am anxious to see if the SAL ladies respond to this bc this is EXACTLY how I am feeling today....my DH told me not to, but I am going to call the doc in the am and see if they will run a 3rd round of bw just to ease my mind....I don't know if I can wait till Friday:(

Keep your head up girl...today we ARE pregnant and we love our baby!!!

  • I'm glad that other people see what I mean. It's not like I expect to have a bump at 5 weeks! However, I guess I had in my head that I would just "feel" different and I don't! Like sometimes I even forget I'm pg!  I just need some reassurance.

  • I have had horrible m/s since about 7-8 weeks (I am 11 now).  Also bloat, exhaustion, headaches, etc.  I don't think I'll feel preg until I have a bump - I have a DD so I think I may get an early bump, like 14ish weeks... but I still think it might be more like 16 weeks that I'll feel preg.
  • I guess when the m/s set in full-force, which wasn't until mid-week 6.
  • Cora and NCsunshine-

I feel the samw way.  But maybe this is a good sign.  I am also going to call for a 3rd round of numbers tomorrow too I think.

  • Just the past couple of days the m/s has kicked in and now that I'm starting to feel horrible, I am thinking more positive! I guess this is the only time in my life that I will welcome feeling nauseous!
  • Other than being really bloated and my nipples feel like they are going to fall off when I touch them, I don't feel pregnant either. I hope I feel better after I go tomorrow for more blood work.

  • I understand exactly how you feel.  I know its early, but i wish there was an easier way to know everything is going ok in there.   I do know that I have a lot of cramping and i am soooooo tired!!!!!!  hang in there, we are with ya  :)

  • I was one of the lucky ones that never got M/S or any other bad symptom early on. It truly wasn't until I had an ultrasound where I saw and heard the heartbeat until I "felt" different. And the feeling was more of a relief than feeling pregnant. I started to get flutters around 17 weeks and it wasn't until then that I truly believed everything was going to be okay! Best of Luck!
  • Good question Cora!! I know what you mean...besides a couple symptoms, I feel perfectly "normal"...who knows, maybe we'll be the lucky pg girls and never get any symptoms, lol!

  • Cora, I  feel the same way too.  I don't feel pregnant, except being exhausted 3/4 of the time.  I want some signs this pg is going well.

  • My m/s started in full force around 8 weeks until about 14 weeks. I started having the tiniest bump around 14 weeks but nothing before that (although my pants stop closing at 8 weeks). I didn't really start feeling pregnant until my bump got a little bigger around 19 weeks, then a lot of people could tell I was pregnant and I was having a harder time sleeping. Oh, and I could feel baby starting around 18 weeks so that definitely made me feel like I was pregnant.

Thanks for posting this.  I was wondering the same thing! :-)

  • I was very tired and had heartburn early on.  My m/s started getting bad week 6, worst week 9 and let up week 11.  My bbs would come and go with being tender/not so tender.  The thing that was always there was being tired.  I am not sure when I started to feel pg?  Maybe in the past couple of weeks with the round ligament pain and growing bump.  I still don't think I am feeling as pg as I will once I feel little jeffrae moving arond.

And fwiw, my friend who is 5 days behind me has had NO symptoms.  Absolutely none!!!
