well, my kid very rarely takes a soother so I only replaced them when I realized that he was up a size. Nipples just got replaced but only because they were low flow ones and he kept getting PO'd with them. He is still mostly BF so I won't bother changing them for a long while yet.
I don't plan on replacing the original nipples...I have enough bottles that I rotate through I don't see it as being a huge issue. I also didn't start using bottles regularly until Em was 4 months old...and we'll be moving on to sippy cups here pretty soon.
I bought the next size paci's for her but she refuses to use them. She likes her original ones...and I have plenty of those to rotate through as well.
We replace Nuks when they start feeling worn or look cloudy, which for us is every few months.I don't replace the bottle nipples because they are not on the verge of breaking. I thought you only had to replace if the plastic was breaking down and it might break while they were eating, creating a choking hazard? I have only "replaced" them when we went to the next size.
