1) How long at what level pay? I don't think I have anything, really. So we're saving now for a 3 month leave! (I'd love to have 60% pay...)
2) What do you do? Therapist for developmentally delayed men who have sexual offenses. (So therapist for d.d. sex offenders.)
Good for you to save! AND, I did a 3 year internship in a similar job as yours before becoming a teacher. I worked with three groups of men and their SOs in therapy 3x weekly. The goal for our groups was family reunification. People always wondered how I could do it.... but I found it to be fascinating work. And to see people change over those years was wonderful. ( Our clients were not devel. delayed but had numerous other issues)
12 months 60% pay to a max of $43,000 for the year. You can also split it with hubby if you like. Standard in Canada. Some employers will top you up to 100%.
1. Because I will be tenured next year I can take up to a year and they will hold my job. Bad news is that I only get paid for my sick days. Currently I have about 40 sick days and I'll have another 16 in August. So I should have about 10-11 weeks of paid leave. Plus, because I'm a teacher, the days of of school don't count and my maternity leave will be over Winter Break, which will be two weeks of free days!
2. I'm a teacher- Special Ed Kindergarten. Might be Special Ed. 3 year-olds next year.

Yea, therapy for them is kind of tough. Moves A LOT slower than normal and, well, it's...different when pregnant. Ha. And I'm letting my clients find out on their own I'm pregnant and boy will that be a circus.... ::sighs::

I need to move to Canada! (Not too far from you, really...)
1) How long at what level pay? i think my short term disability is 6 weeks of "up to" 60%, but i need to take more to get me to the end of DH's semester (graduation?!) so we'd better start saving. (saving? like they pay me enough to actually SAVE?!)
2) What do you do? financial aid at a trade college.
1) How long at what level pay? I have 12 weeks, 8 weeks are 100% paid and then I can use vacation, sick bank, sick, or personal time to make up the other 4 also at 100% pay
They treat maternity like any other disability at my company. So the first week is a waiting period (I can use vacation days), then as long as my doctor has me out of work (6 weeks for vaginal birth or 8 weeks for c section) I get 2/3 of my regular salary. We are covered under FMLA so I can take a total of 12 weeks off, but anything after either 6 or 8 weeks is unpaid. I am trying to save up my vacation days to cover a couple weeks extra. I will likely not take any unpaid time.
1) How long at what level pay? 12 weeks total. I'm paid 6 weeks at 60% pay for a vaginal delivery and 8 weeks at 60% pay for c-section. I have a lot of vacation/sick time accrued so I am hoping to taking at least 10 weeks of at least 60% paid leave.
100% UNPAID, but they are flexible with the amount of time you want off. No guarantee that you'll have the same job though. Also, while on leave I'd have to pay the full amount of my medical insurance to keep it current (normally they pay the majority of the monthly premium).
Not sure what my job would have given me before I was laid off, but the state of California gives you paid family leave at 55% for both parents. 6 weeks I believe.
1. 4 weeks at half pay and then I can use vacation and personal days. I have 14 vacation and 4 personal days, but I only work 4 days a week so that ends up being 4.5 weeks at 100%. So we are saving 4 weeks of half pay to make up the difference the first 4 weeks and allow me to take 8 1/2 weeks.
2. I am a dental hygienist.

I work for the federal government and they don't do maternity leave. I can use sick leave and vacation though and they are generous with that so I plan to take 12 weeks at 100% but I will hardly have any vacation or sick leave left when I come back. bummer
I'm an audiologist.
