She loves me, she loves me not?

Just when I think things are starting to go okay with BF, DD decides she doesn't like my breasts.  Ugh!  I had two feedings this morning where DD only ate about 5 minutes on one breast and during the second feeding she acted starving, but when I tried to get her to latch, she just got mad.  She would drink some and then start crying.  I think she had gas, but when I burped her she fell asleep never to return to the "well" again.  I can't tell if my poor baby is starving or just full.  So discouraging that here I am in tears again. Crying  I'm so sick of crying about this!

    I am so sorry mama. I went through the same thing with Jonah.  Everyone says the first two weeks are the hardest! Page Iris she is a wealth of encouraging breastfeeding knowledge and there are other great ladies on this board to get you through as well :))))

    how wet are her diapers?  tha is how i can figure out how much dd ate....sometimes almost dry/ sometimes soaking!

    They have a two week growth spurt where they will only feed for a short amount of time, but a lot during the day....it could be that. Don't get discouraged...she may just not be hungry either and was frustrated that you were trying to feed her more.

    She'll let ya know when she's hungry. Just don't let her go more than 3 hours during the day without eating.

    Thank you!  Its been a rough couple weeks...lots of tears.

    How are you and Jonah doing?

    This is good to know.  Thanks for the encouragement.:-)  I feel like such a baby -- it seems like I need constant reinforcement lately.

    Don't feel bad - we were all there...trust me! You'll start to see posts from newbies and think "oh, that poor woman...I know how she feels - I was there too" before you know it! 

    I can still cry just looking at him because I love him so much! It's great having them in our lives....but seriously, when do the water works end? 

    You're doing a great job mama - keep up the good work. And remember - babies have good and bad days. And as soon as you think you got them figured out - - they think it's fun to change it up on ya!
