I had to tell at work today b/c I am totally green and have a may-jah case of preggy-boobs. My clothes are tight thanks to baby bloat and there was no way I was making it to 3 months. I didn't want my boss to find out from someone else so I blabbed but told her it wasn't public. They will need to hire in my absence and in Canada the mat leave is a full year. I have a lot of training to do for a new person to come in for that length of time as there are certain seasonal projects that are part of my job. I didn't have a choice.
Now our parents, best friends (DH's and mine), and select work group know. I feel like it's way too early.
Anyone tell early? Who did you tell? Did you freak out at all about telling afterwards?
Re: Anyone tell really early? Who'd you tell?
I had to tell the guys I coached with because there are certain things I can't do now and the sex ed teacher knows because I went running down to her room (with the stick I peed on in the teachers bathroom) and asked her if she saw a pink line.
We also told my DH's business partners as this is going to be affecting some decisions we are making.
Dx PCOS 09/08 2000mg Met
TTC #1 from 05/08-02/09 BFP 02/26/09
DD Born 11/11/09
Suprise Baby #2 on the way! EDD 8/16/13
We told our parents and siblings and then DH went and blabbed to abunch of his friends. ?
Now pretty much everyone knows because some lady in my chorus group asked me point blank if I was pregnant (apparently eating crackers means you are) and word travels fast in small neighborhoods.?
I waited 12 weeks with my firstborn.
I told DH the day I tested (5wks) & after two days we had both told almost everyone.
We just could not keep our mouths shut :O)
Hopefully nothing goes wrong with the pregnancy, but if it does I will just have that much more support from friends & family??

WAIT A MINUTE! You get an entire year off for Maternity leave in Canada?
I am seething, seething with jealousy
PCOS, Ectopic & M/C of twins October 2010, Currently TTC #2
Thanks ladies! You all made me feel better. I know the ppl that know are mostly those that need to and I would want support from if anything were to happen (except maybe DH's friends he blabbed to, but they would be understanding, and he would need their support).
Sticky sticky baby dust to you all.
I think I'm pretty normal but it varries depending on the job, some people don't get paid leave at all
We are really lucky in Canada to have the time that we have. It is illegal for our employer's to fire us, they have to keep our job for us for a full year.
We waited the full 12 weeks with our first. This time we've told immediate family and close friends.. and once I go to my 10 week appt, that will probably be as long as I can keep it from work.
I told my DH the day I found out, I told my parents today. And 2 very close friends. Will tell DH's parents soon too.
