Using wash clothes instead of diaper wipes?

I'd like to start using them for wet diapers.  Any tips?  What do you use to wet them?  Do you wet them with water only? Thanks!

    i'd say just water. ?we've been using wet paper towels for a bit since LO is having a reaction to wipes- ?pedi said just to use wet paper towels for the first month since she has sensitive skin

    We use wet washcloths instead of wipes.  I use just water mostly but also have tried a wipes solution with some essential oils and another premade wipes solution.

    I was thinking about doing this or using paper towels after reading how much cancer causing chemicals are in baby wipes. Just blows my mind that they put these harmful chemicals in almost all baby products from wipes to shampoo etc...

    Yep water only.  I am afraid soap might irritate her skin.

    I have used wet washcloths from the get go.  The few times I've used wipes she got rashes so I stopped using wipes completely, unless we are out of the house in which case I use Seventh Gen. wipes. 

    I wet up the washcloths with warm water and we're good to go.  It saves money and it's much gentler on their skin.  :)

    We use only cloth washcloths for all diapers.  I have plain water in a spray bottle and will spritz ds's bottom and wipe with a dry wipe.  It works out great.

    We use cloth wipes and Viva paper towels with plain water. It seems to work well for us.

    With my DD I used the rectangular shaped bin from the hospital and would fill it with warm water and Dove sensitive skin. I would us that to clean her after wet diapers and only used wipes for poopy diapers. Even then sometimes I would wipe off all the messy stuff and then go over the area with a wash cloth.
