so sad
I live in a town that used to be so nice and beautiful. Now, there are gun shells in the streets and gangs all over. Thank god I only work in the city now and don't have to live in the madness. We are hoping to move a town over when our house sells.....which can be awhile.
My friend who's husband volunteers with the fire department just called to tell me they are doing another gang initiation this weekend where they are supposed to be targeting two women to rape and beat up. It is not uncommon to get calls from police officers, fire department workers, or volunteers to inform the community of alerts.
A women who contracts with our office was a victim of this violence over the holiday.
It is sad that people no longer feel safe going outside and are directed to go out in pairs so no one is alone.

I know how you feel - living in Flint has gotten a lot worse over the last few years! DH doesnt even like me going to the mall alone anymore.
I cannot freaking wait to move to Grand Rapids - its going to be nice to feel safe in my neighborhood again!
That is really sad, and everything else in the world. What I don't understand, are these sex affenders that get like 10-20 years in jail. And they get out, and they do it all over again. And these little girls get kid-nap from walking home from school, or even from there house in the middle of the night. If there is a sex affender they should have life in prison, and not be able to get out. I am look at Jessica Lunsford the little girl who was kidnapped from her room, while she was sleeping, And her neighbor, John Cury ( i am not sure how to spell his last name) kidnapped her, and she was alive for a few days, then he barried her alive. And now she is died. This happened a few hours away from me. This John Cury lived like a cross the street from her or something, and he was in jail for like 15-20 years, and he got out, after he did his time, and then did this to this little girl. If he had life in prison, Jessica would be alive today. This happened a couple of years ago, and they just know convited him, to kidnapping and rapping, and killing her, I can't remember what his punishment is, I think he got the death penality or life in prison or something like that, where he won't be able to get out.
The punishment should be Jessica's dad, have 5 minutes alone with the guy, and just beat the crap out of him. Once they are sex affenders, rappers and everything they should stay in jail for life, or the death penalty, and there will be alot less sex affenders. They should not be able to get out in 15-20 years, they need to stay in there, or get the death penalty. These parents lost there children and wont be able to see them again. Because these sex affenders killed them. And these sex affenders get to live, and stay in jail for a few years, and are able to get out, and they do it again.
Our court system sucks.
It is getting bad all over. We had a cement block thrown in our window a couple weeks ago, and DH works at the hospital in Pontiac, and it is crazy how much violence goes on in that city. It is sad, and it is only going to get worse as more people are unemployed and cannot afford their payments and what not.
