Have any of you been craving beer? DH had an icy cold Corona last night and I was drooling!! I had a few sips but boy do I want my own. My mom craved beer when she was pg with me and I think that is why I love it so much. Would it be terrible to have 1/2 a beer or so...you know something to get my lips wet?
Re: Craving ice cold BEER!!
I did when I was pregnant with R. A friend of mine did too, and she normally won't touch a beer. Go for it!
Why not buy some non-alcoholic beer?
Personally I've had an aversion to it since a few weeks after my BFP. I used to love it but even the smell of FI drinking it now makes me want to puke.
The non- alc beer is decent.... I have a central market that has lots of different brands to try....
however, I'm of the mindset to go for it and have half a beer. I'm having a glass of wine with my dad's birthday dinner t
A beer is not going to hurt that baby. When I was prego with my daughter I was advised to drink a beer or a glass of redwine a few nights a week to help me sleep. They said it would not hurt my baby and it would do me a world of good. In other countries they drink one nightly. The sates and the insurance issues we have make us feel everything is high risk.
I'm almost 24 weeks prego and I've drank 2 beers and a glass of wine on nights when sleep has been absent for a while. It does the trick. I'm not saying drinking is ok when prego but I am saying once in a while isn't going to hurt a thing. I do have to say that I wouldn't drink anything before your baby is fully formed.

So at what stage of the game do MD's give the okay for an occasional drink? My husband drinks Abita every night and their Strawberry Festival just came out...oh so good and it's not a sweet one. I will occasionally take a sip, but that's it. I have cravings all the time too.
I was told it was okay at sixteen weeks. I didn't even have to ask her about it, she just told me if it helped me relax or sleep, or if I just wanted it, to go ahead.
I wasn't really craving beer, until now.........
me! the weather has been warming up- been in the 80s the past week or so here, and it just makes me want an ice cold beer. i was thinking about having just 1/2 off one too. i think it would be fine. maybe this weekend!
gosh, it's like when you're on a diet and are staying away from certain things they sound soooo much better!
There are two non-alcoholic beers that I've found to be pretty decent. One is Clausthauler. It's on the hoppier side, kind of like an IPA. It's not bad and they carry it in my grocery stores (Safeway and Lucky).
The other is Kaliber. It's actually good. Made and imported by the folks who brought us Guinness. It's not like Guinness, though--it's darker and more full-bodied than the Clausthauler...maybe like an amber ale (although not exactly). I can find it at my local BevMo.
Happy drinking, ladies!
