First off I really like my actual OB but I'm starting to feel like her office is 1. used to "normal" pregnancy situations 2. way too busy. My OB has a little one that is probably about 18 months and is due with her second in June. She currenly only works Wed-Friday and then obviously she will be on Maternity leave for a good part of my pregnancy.
I called yesterday to tell them I was pg and at my last appt my Dr. said when I do get pg call in and she would have me have bloodwork and then have an early u/s between 6-8wks. Well when I called yesterday they gave me the date for the u/s of 4/29, which will be 9w1d. Which I realize isn't a huge difference but since I had a missed m/c discovered at 8w6d last time and was told the baby probably died at 6-7 wks, I just don't like the idea of waiting that long. God forbid if something happened I really don't want to prolong my connectedness to the pg.
So I'm considering switching, I would really like to deliver at Clarion North but St. Vincent's Womens on 86th st would be fine too. Do any of you have Dr. that you would recommend, particularly if it is their normal practice to do an early u/s?
Re: Help Indy girls: Thinking of switching OBs
I highly highly recommend St. V's women's. I loved this group of doctors I saw when I was in high risk.
The doctors I saw (many times) were Gates, Hinkle, Leone, Ronco, and Stevens.
I think Gates is my favorite, with Leone as a close 2nd (he was DH's fav). After that I'm not sure, they are all excellent. Hinkle delivered littleA.
I don't know if they do early u/s because I went to Dr. Teter prior to going to the hospital (he didn't do an early u/s).
Dr. Jarrett (fertility dr.) did an early u/s for us though, and I can see why you want one, but I wouldn't do it again because I think it's expensive and while it was neat, I didn't see much purpose for me. But that's a personal decision and your situation is a lot different than ours.
I really like my OB/GYN and she is at Clarian North in Carmel. So I don't know if maybe we are talking about the same office. Who are you looking to switch from? Her name is Dr. Sara Murphy. I really like her. And although we haven't been actively TTC she has been very helpful with my situation regarding my previous health and what would be best for us. And she always takes time to answer all my questions. Her bedside manner is very good too, which I always appreciate when you are in a situation like OB exams.
ETA: In your situation I would want an early u/s as well. So I completely understand why you would be wanting to do that.
She's with Women's Health Alliance OB/GYN...
Here's a quick link that should have the contact information for her. She's very sweet and I always appreciate the time she spends with me when I see her.

At this point with you, I'd say you're outside anyone's "normal" practice, no matter what that is.
I might even call back to the office (while you're in the process of switching) and explain that you've had 2 mc's and were supposed to have an EARLY u/s and can they please move it up?
My doctors deliver at St. V's Carmel, but I do love them and they did an u/s at my first appointment. It wasn't until 10 weeks though.
But mostly I just wanted to pop in and say, CONGRATULATIONS!
I also go to Women's Health Alliance at Clarian North - I use Dr. Flora who I love. When DH met her this week for my mirena insertion, he also really liked her. She answered all of the questions we had without making us feel silly for asking them. She also specializes in high-risk obstetrics which is why I chose her (I have type two diabetes).
Here's the link to their practice: https://www.whaindy.com/ and here's some reviews on Dr. Flora (she used to practice in Michigan): https://www.healthgrades.com/directory_search/physician/profiles/dr-md-reports/Dr-Stefanie-Flora-MD-A6C3CE3F.cfm?tabphysprofile=pat_exp
