We got the Graco Deluxe Quattro Travel System. I based it on customer reviews on BRU, how easy it was to fold up, and the weight that the car seat went up to (32 lbs.) so that I can get as much use out of it as possible... oh ya and of course looks, lol, we went with the Deco pattern.
We did NOT get a travel system because I have a bad back and can't physically lift the carrier and baby to get it anywhere. We decided on the Bumbleride Flyer stroller and Recaro Signo carseat because it's top-rated for safety.
We have a Graco Snugride infant seat. For the first few months I used it with a Snap n Go. Now I use a BOB Revolution for jogging/neighborhood walks and a Maclaren Techno for malls/travel/car.
We bought the Graco Quattro Travel System and I don't recommend it. The Snugride infant seat is fine but the stroller is a PIA! It's heavy, hard to navigate in small spaces and huge (both opened and closed). I ended up buying the Baby Jogger City Mini and absolutely love it. It's lightweight (16.8 pounds), can close/open with one hand, and it handles well on different surfaces. I also purchased the car seat adapter so it can be used as a travel system.
I got both the BOB and the snap & go strollers for ease of use. I wanted a sturdy jogging stroller and the BOB had amazing reviews, but is larger than a regular stroller. I chose the snap and go because it is much smaller and more manueverable so a better fit for a quick run to the store or around the mall.
Dx PCOS 2004...Married Oct. 2008... Complete surprise BFP on BCP Oct 2008..Amazing, miracle born 6/8/09...TTC #2 since 6/10
Graco Snugride Sachi (new print) and the Baby Jogger City Mini (bought car seat adapter bar so it can be used in combo) based on both Baby Bargains and personal reviews. I can't wait to use them...car seat is getting installed this weekend.
I am obsessed with the BOB stroller, so I got the only car seat that fits that AND a snap n go..which turned out to be the Peg Perego something or other...for a smaller stroller I got the Joovy Groove
We have the same...Grace Safeseat that we will clip in to BOB Revolution and we will just use the BOB or our Maclaren when the baby gets big enough depending on the adventure.
The car seat was recommended by DH's uncle (an infant safety seat inspector). He siad it's the sturdiest on the market and that the company has the fewest recalls.
The stroller: DH runs in triathlons. We wanted a jogging stroller so he can take the baby on runs with him (when the baby is the right age of course) and we didn't want two strollers, so we wanted the one that was the most maneuverable. The BOB won.

Carseat: Gracco Snugride 32 - because it supposedly fits the stroller (would have gone with Chicco KeyFit, but didn't fit stroller)
Stroller: Bob Revolution - I wanted a quality primary stoller that we could use for a very long time for many purposes. Our carseat carrier can attach to the Bob, which means I didn't need a travel system. Also, the Bob can hold a child to a greater weight limit than a travel system, so we'll be able to use it longer than a travel system. And, it will work for my walks around the neighborhood as well as it will work for hubby's jogs around the neighborhood. DH was adament that we were not going to be one of those families that has four different stollers for the little one.
I have also registered for a MacClaren umbrella stroller, as that will be easier to maneuver in the mall and on other errands. But, we haven't received or purchased it yet.
We got a Graco travel system as well. We oredered it in the Melbourne pattern, even though something pink would have been cute we figured going with a turquoise color would be practical when we have another baby. We also purchased the Graco pack-n-play in the same pattern and love them both! I think they are going to work out great.
*We based our decision on the customer reviews online and went to the stores to check them out ourselves.

My reasoning exactly! Only we got the Zurich pattern instead.
We got the uppa baby vista stroller and the chico keyfit carseat that snaps into it. Both DH and I are very tall and this was tall enough for us and good for the city.
we bought the Quinny Buzz 4 and the Maxi Cosi Mico carseat.
we LOVED the quinny when we 'test-drove' strollers. For us that was 'the one'. The Maxi Cosi Mico has great safety ratings, and pops into our stroller like a snap & go (the stroller seat actually comes out). So that made the decision for us.

UppaBaby Vista stroller with adaptor for the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP car seat.
Only 2 brands of car seat fit the Uppababy so that decision was easy...stroller was based on design, multi-use (bassinet, seat and adapts for more than one kid) and the overall look.
We got the Chicco Cortina Keyfit Travel System. I was sure I wanted a Graco Metrolite, but when I got to the store the Chicco just seemed to make more sense. It was lighter, it turned better, and just looked sturdier than the Graco. Plus, if I remember correctly, the car seat for the Chicco was going to last longer and handle more height/weight than the Graco so it made more sense in the long run.
We got the Bumbleride Flyer and the Graco SafeSeat. ?I didn't want one of those travel system and the Bumbleride is pretty kick-ass. ?The SafeSeat was just because it fit with the Bumbleride, it was a good price, and I liked the pattern.
We really really wanted the Uppa Baby Vista, we loved the basinette feature and the look of it. It was perfect for us in everything except the price
Second runners up were 1) the Chicco Cortina, very very nice, it did reclined completely flat which is great for newborns but was a bit too heavy for me. 2) The Graco quattro tour deluxe was second runner up, we absolutely loved all the features and it was less expensive than the Chicco; but I'm small and couldn't carry that monster, it was HEAVY.
We went for the Graco Metrolite with the Snugride car seat. Both the stroller and carseat are light (good for me!) The stroller is not bulky at all. And has all the great features the previous two did. The only drawback I found was that the seat does not lie completely flat (180degrees), but almost, let's 175 but I'm picky that way. We live in FL so we would really only use the stroller inside the mall, stores, the park maybe. Not a lot of city walking.
We went with the Graco Snugride 32 in Lemongrass for the car seat and the Jeep Liberty Limited 3 Wheel Stroller. My husband is a Jeep fanatic and really liked that the car seat could fit into the stroller, but that the stroller was sturdy enough for us to use for a long time. It's pretty heavy, but mostly we'll be using it to walk, not hauling it from place to place. The price was right on both of these items, that was a huge deciding factor for us!
I think this is the stroller we were going to get as well, but it was recalled b/c of something about lead and we had to find something else. it may just be stricter regs in CA.
We ended up with the Chicco Keyfit carseat and matching stroller in the Cubes pattern.
we splurged and got a bugaboo cameleon...we are getting the snugrude 32.
dh and i are both tall ( him 6'7" and me 5'11") and wanted the adjustable handle and bassinet feature of the bugaboo.. alos we plan on using it every day as I plan on walking home from work and daycare.
32 we also got because we think the baby will be tall too.

We just bought the Baby Jogger City Elite with the optional bar so we can use it as a travel system. We really liked the Baby Jogger City Mini, but I'm 6'0 and DH is 6'2 and we also reallly wanted an adjustable handle.
We plan to use it with the Baby Trend infant carrier.

Re: what car seat/stroller did you buy?
Chicco Keyfit travel system - got great reviews, stroller is lighter than most, and safety ratings on the car seat were great.
I just unpacked it this past weekend and I love it so far!

We have the Chico Keyfit infant seat and the rockstar baby stroller.
I have a BOB stroller from DD which I'll reuse
Car seat: peg perego primo viaggio.
Stroller: BOB revolution.
