I haven't heard much about using them while pregnant. I won't be using a self tanner just because I am self tanner incapible and I cannot use them without looking streaky.
I don't see anything wrong it in. I think Doctor's can be such alarmists at times, although, I understand they rather be cautious. I'd just read the labels on the box carefully.
They don't work for me at all. I am very pale skinned, I turn orange if I use them.
GL!
Are you really wearing that many things that show off your legs that a tan is necessary? I wouldn't risk any side effects from the tanner especially if your doctor advises to stay away also. IMO.
I think I do a really sh!tty job of putting them on myself so I'll be avoiding them just for that reason alone.
Ditto. Also, I feel like they don't look that natural unless you're already a little tan and using them just to pump up the color. Applied to super pale skin they tend to look orangey or streaky. The spray tans seem to work well although I've only seen, never tried, them.
I have used them a couple of times and my doc said it was fine. There is an interesting artice on Babycenter.com, if you search for self tanners on their website. GL. You should be fine!!!

Well, considering that I will be pregnant through July and some of August- my plan is not to wear long sleeve shirts or pants!

I use Jergen's Natural Glow. I only use it on my face (its the face lotion) once a week. I haven't had a problem with it and I have been using it for a year or so. Last year at this time I was using it all over. Not sure if I plan to do that or not. It never made my skin orange or a funny color. Its very gradual especially if you use the light color to start out with. It doesn't smell funny either.
I wish I could be my OB said NO! Every question I've asked so far has been yes... but I said tinted lotion and she said "OHHH NO!" Wish I could use something though b/c this acne might look a little better with a little tan.
Your doctor has indicated a valid reason and you are looking to Bumpies to go against what your doctor has recommended all because your legs are a bit pale.

My Dr. said they are okay in moderation. I've used BE Faux Tan twice (once before vacation, once before a wedding) since being PG, and only on parts of me that would be seen.
As an alternative, you could also use a body bronzer that washes off in the shower.
My first snarky post! WTF is wrong with everyone. Why do you have to be tan? If you OB says NO then don't do it. What's more important the way you look or your baby? If you wanted to be tan then you should not have gotten PG!

WOW.
This.
I never understood why people -want- to look like they have damaged, nasty skin.
I love it when people take a simple question and turn it into a response like that I am putting my baby at risk.
I was surprised by my o.b's answer considering she says it is fine to get my hair highlighted. Just curious what your o.b's said, that is all. This is my 2nd baby, so I am not a newbie. But I appreciate all of your passionate responses- lol!
Re: What do you think about self tanners?
My Dr said they were OK to use. I use the Dove one when I want a little color.

If your doctor says not too, I wouldn't.

You girls crack me up! My doctor just said that there are no studies out either way on self tanners.

I'm proud of my pale Irish skin.
