Question for those with GD?

Have you had an ultrasound specifically to check the weight/size of the baby since your GD diagnosis? I will find out more on my Friday appt w/OB (first appt w/OB since my diagnosis 2 weeks ago) but I am wondering if they pretty much do that routinely for people w/GD.

I am not as far along as you are, but I have GD, and my doctor told me immediately that after 20 weeks I would get an ultrasound once a month, and once I hit 28/30 weeks they would do them once every two weeks until I deliver... that way they can monitor the baby's size.

I was just diagnosed last week. I am seeing my doctor again in 2 weeks. Maybe she'll say something then, or I will ask if she doesn't.

i was diagnosed on monday (at the 31 week mark) when the NP called to tell me she made an u/s appt for me to see how big the baby is next week. since i already had a check up appt scheduled for next tuesday, she just made the u/s appt for the same time. i am not sure if there will be more u/s after that

I had GD when I was pregnant and I never had a sono after mine at 21 weeks. I guess it could be different for each doctor, but mine just did the normal rountie check ups and measured belly to est. size. I guess dr never felt a need to do additional sonos, so for me just the one!

I was diagnosed early, and they did growth ultrasounds for me at weeks 21, 25, 29, and 31. They were able to estimate based on the pattern of growth that our baby will be right around 8 pounds.

Since she's in the "normal" range of things, my OB has said that she will not do any more growth ultrasounds unless the ultrasound tech notices that she's suddenly "huge" during my weekly biophysical profiles.

I kind of wish I could have one more, now that I'm getting closer, but I'll trust that the OB knows what she's doing!

With my first pregnancy, once diagnosed they did an ultra sound to check that the baby had no birth defects, check weight/size and AF level.

This time around they are treating me as if I have diabetes so, I've had so many test and I will start going for the ultra sound to check weight/size around 22 weeks and I don't know after that.

I only had my 20wk ultrasound. ?My OB just checks the baby's size each week by feeling around my belly and the tape measure. ?I asked if I would get another u/s, but she said only if they notice that i'm measuring too large.

(The baby was about 6 pounds last week)?

I had an extra one at 29 weeks, and I'll have another at 34. Not sure how many more I'll have after that, but I was told that I will have them regularly to watch the baby's size.

Yes. I have been doing growth scans monthly since I was 20 weeks...it is mostly due to being high risk, but also the GD plays a factor in it. I don't know if it's routine for ladies with GD, but it would make sense, as they want to make sure baby is not getting too big.

I have only had my 20 week u/s. Since my GD is being controlled by diet and I'm not measuring big, I won't have a growth scan until 38 weeks. They are pretty much treating me like I have a normal pregnancy unless I need to go on insulin or I start measuring ahead.

I will be having another growth scan in 2 weeks at my next appointment. This is the 1st growth scan since my GD diagnosis but have had a few others one prior too it.
