Ultrasound from hell..

Hi,

I just have to share the story of what happened to me today. I have been under the care of a perinatologist and have had regular u/s at my local hospital. I had the best techs and was so comfortable.

Now I am done with those appts and am having regular u/s right at my OB's office. Today was my first appt and I am suprised that I am not in labor. The tech I had today must have squeezed an entire bottle of gel all over from right below my boobs on down. Then she proceeded to basically bang on my poor daughter's head to get her hands to move away from her face with the wand. Not just once did she do this but several times and finally I said let me try coughing or rolling. After the exam from hell was done she basically handed me a paper towel and said I could clean myself off and I was free to go. Well one stinkin piece of paper towel was not working for the amount of slime I had. The witch didn't even offer to help me off the table.

I am going to say something to my OB next week about her.

    Sorry to hear about your experience.  I had bad experiences from my 12 week and my 20 week ones.  The techs were really frustrated when the baby didn't cooperate and would just probe harder and harder.  My DH wanted to say, hey stop hurting my wife.

    I had a terrible u/s experience around 14w as a follow up to some sever ab. pain.  I called and complained.  The next time I saw that tech it was clear someone had spoken to her because she was much more polite and gentle.  Definitely say something, if for no other reason than to prevent someone else from having the same experience.

    I had a guy who did one for me at 32 (we discovered baby was breech then) and he was so rude.. he took a personal call (with me in the room) and it took 10 minutes!  Then he asked if I knew or wanted to know the sex and I said no..he then said to me, good, that's one thing I dont feel like doing today.

    thanks buddy.  he also slathered so much gel and gave me a tiny rag..lovely!
