Do you still use Dreft?

I  am almost out and I was about to write it on my shopping list.  Then I started thinking...I should probably just twitch to Tide at this point. DS doesn't seem to have any allergies or super sensative skin so I don't think it will be a problem.  Just wondering what other people use?

Re: Do you still use Dreft?

  • I only used Dreft in the very beginning.  DH and I used to use Tide but we actually all switched to All Free & Clear.

If I were you I'd say that it's safe to try it.  If he has a reaction, switch to something perfume and dye free.

  • I've been using Tide for a while. I really didn't use Dreft as long as most people.  DS has had no issues with skin problems either.
  • I never used it.  I've used Tide Free & Clear for years on our clothes so I just used it on his also.

I don't see why you should have a problem.  Try it once and see how it goes.  If he reacts, then get some more Dreft.

  • I never used it, I just switched the whole family to All Free and Clear when DS was born.  It has worked great for us!
  • I never used Dreft.  I use Seventh Generation's baby detergent or their regular detergent, if I ran out of the other one.
  • No, never did. It's full of perfume and can irritate baby's skin.  I use All Free and Clear, or Purex (the kind without fragrance)

Sometimes I get like regular Tide or something with perfume. It doesn't bother her.

  • I use it and love it. ?I don't think that Tide would bother DS. ?I just like the fact that Dreft gets absolutely everything out of clothes. ?

  • I never used it. I personally use free and clear detergents for myself (no specific brand) so i have just always used those for DD's laundry too.  I actually got a whiff of it once and it spazzed out my nose/allergies.  couldnt imagine using it on a baby!
  • No I stopped about a month ago and now wash everyone's laundry together and I love it - way easier and takes less time.

  • Nope and I never have. We started using Purex dye/fragrance free we just recently changed to just regular Purex.  I would just watch for any reactions.

Never did.  Too many perfumes in it.

We've always washed her stuff with ours; we used to use Tide F&C, and now use Crunchy Clean.

  • We never did - waste of money.  Any Free & Clear Detergent will do.
  • I never used it, I've been washing her clothes with our regular detergent from the beginning with no problems.
  • I never used Dreft because it is scented.  I always use a "free and clear" detergent like Seventh Generation, Mrs. Meyers, or even Tide.

  • I used it only because I had over a hundred free samples.  Little did I know it was killing my DS's skin.  His eczema almost disappeared when I switched to Purex Free and Clear.  I also like Cruncy Clean for his clothes and diapesr.
  • never used it...

used the free and clear until about 3 months and then switched to tide

~after 34 cycles we finally got our 2nd little bundle of joy~

  • We bought four bottles of All Free and Clear when DD was a newborn (they were on sale). I used them all up, and I have just been throwing her clothes in with ours and washing them with tide for probably 6 months now. No problems, and laundry is WAY easier.
