anyone ever cut the band on your pants?

i'm wearing a pair of pants from old navy (chino-like style) and they have a full belly panel. however it's not the comfy stretchy thin panel like all the secret fit belly stuff. this panel is cotton, not super stretchy, and has an even tighter top portion of elastic to hold it up.  the top, tightest part is soooo uncomfortable. if i pull it high it tugs my belly down, in the middle and down low it's too tight.

i was thinking about either putting a snip in just the top band to loosen it a little, OR cutting the band off and using my bellyband to hold the pants up more.

not sure if it'll just roll down and be annoying then......anyone ever 'altered' their pants?

    Yep--I snipped all my bands.  Just be careful that there's still some sort of elasticity when ya do it..a couple of mine I ruined but the rest now fit great!

    I did end up snipping the sides of my Gap business style pant.  It was the most comfortable thing I ever did.  They did not fall down at all.  I didnt snip a whole lot, just enough where I felt comfy.

    I bought a really expensive pair of jeans that had an under belly band. By week 27, the band was torture. I bought an extra belly band and took the pants to the tailor to swap it. It cost me $10 for the alteration and the jeans are so comfortable now.

    I was just contemplating this very thing this morning.  I'm running out of pants to wear to work and was tempted to just cut the bands on my half panel pants.  How am i going to last another 5 weeks?!

    I was given a pair of jeans by a friend who recently had a baby, and she had snipped the sides of the band.  At first I was kind of annoyed b/c I was smaller and it made the pants fall down.... Now, however, I'm like "OOHHH thank god for those snips!"

    OMG Mobiz--I have the same problem. I have the exact pair of pants that you are talking about and they dig into my stomach now. I have started to just wear them under my belly (the elastic)...but am seriously considering cutting the elastic.

    hi love! follow up--i just snipped, and it did help a little. i think once i'm home tonight i may try to cut more. i just don't want to do too too much at work and regret it all day with weird pants issues!
