It's my first time pregnant and I will be very preg by the summer. I want to enjoy time on the beach and have seen maternity bikinis. Is it really necessary to buy these or can I just use my regular bikinis? I have string bikinis and am thinking those can just be adjusted. Thoughts?
Re: Maternity bikini- is it necessary?
I am going to try to do this. I may buy a new bigger NORMAL bikini since my boobs are bigger but I do think I can deal with the adjustable bottoms for awhile...however, after I get to be about 7 months, I'm not sure i'll want to be exposing all that flesh
. haehehe.
I am going to Aruba and MExico in the next two months though and fully intend on wearing my older bikinis and not buying new.
I don't think maternity bikinis are necessary. Regular bikinis are fine. I had to buy a new one recently because my old one wouldn't fit my boobs:) Tankinis are different story - I tried on a bunch and the ended up looking like bikinis gone wrong!
I for sure needed a larger top, my boobs were huge, and my giant nipples for sure would have been all over the place in my regular bikini.
I just went out and got a cute bikini with an enormous top and my regular size bottoms, thankfully the store i went to was one of those where you bought the pieces separately so you could get varying sizes.
I just bought a new bikini this last weekend. I went for a normal one because maternity bathing suits are just not attractive to me. I ended up having to go up one size in the bottoms and three sizes in the top!
If you are like me you'll need extra coverage in both areas and a string bikini may not be enough fabric.
I am not a fan of maternity swimsuits. I'm definetely a bikini girl and I do believe a larger size can work depending on your size. That's what I'm doing.
Warning::
You might want to hold off buying anything till you grow a little more. I had a growth spurt around week 21. My boobs, belly, all grew tremendously. Everything else is the same, but see where you're at.
