    This may be a dumb question, but can a baby break your ribs? It sounds like most of them end up wedged in there, and I'd be afraid that one swift kick would break one!

    Yes they can!  Allie broke and separated 2 of my right ribs.  She was stuck up there too.  The nurse had to push her feet from between the ribs.  It was not fun at all.  The pain was horrible.
