Here's a kind of strange question for y'all - I will put it in context for you - my DH is a little kooky in a cute sort of way -
Anyway - he would like to come up with a name to call the baby before "it" is born so that we're not always referring to 'it' as IT! He doesn't want to find out if it's a he/she (although I do, so I probably will!) so we're trying to think of something cute/clever to call him/her for the next 7 months.
Example - his sister called their DD "Albuquerque" before she was born, because it rhymed with their last name.
Thanks!
Re: What to call Baby while still in the womb
What does Albequerque rhyme with? Ralbequerque? Talbequerque?
Anyway, to the question at hand...
We called DS Chuck Norris while in utero. I'm not exactly sure why, but it stuck. It was even written on my shower cake.
Before we knew the sex, we called ours Waldo because she always hid from the Doppler and the doc had to chase her around to find the heartbeat - so it was like Where's Waldo
Now, we've been calling her Hedwig (NOT our chosen name). It was the utterly worst name that my mother suggested and it's stuck as a nn.
We rotate between:
Chucky (why I don't know. Sounded funny one night I guess)
Circle (Becuase that's what it looked like on the first u/s)
Jackolass (Dh's stupid baby name suggestion 2 weeks ago)
Jackolass is currently sticking though!
With my DS we didn't find out and had called him Festus (the fetus).
This one is Ziggy (the zygote).
We called the first one Chickadee. Also didn't want an 'it' and didn't plan to reveal the sex.
The next one will probably be little chickie or chicken little.

My Blog
This cracks me up. My mom called me Roscoe in utero for similar reasons.
We call the baby Peep.
I remember reading in one of those weekly PG update newsletters that the baby was the size of a marshmallow Peep. I thought it was hysterically funny and it just stuck around.
Funny. We just had this discussion over dinner tonight.
So far, it's Peanut, but that's kinda common and boring.
DH mentioned he once heard of someone with the given name of Cricket. That might stick.
I've been calling the baby Aberdeen Lulu Beans, usually just Bean (I think people think I'm crazy enough for just talking about Bean lol)
Our baby was conceived days after I finished the Seattle Marathon. I joked that we must be having a grungy little WTO protestor because Seattle got my eggs all fired up (I ovulated 3 days early and our timing was horrible but it worked lol).
Recently, DH has started complaining that it's not really a "bean" anymore but a real baby. I offered to start calling it Cletus the Fetus, but DH didn't seem to approve lol
Mes Petit Choux
I can't go back to yesterday - because I was a different person then. ~ Alice
We use Spawn. It came out one day in the first tri - I was so sick, plus had HORRID heartburn and gas. TMI I know, but my butt literally burned when I farted LOL!
I turned to my husband and says that my farts and burps burn so bad, I was convinced my womb was the depths of hell and I was carrying a devil spawn. Both of us cracked up laughing so hard we were in tears.
Now if I talk about his room, his clothes, anything that is his, I will say "Cole's"... but if I talk about HIM, I still say spawn!
Baby-T or my wombmate
Mostly just "the baby" before we found out whether it was a boy or a girl. Now we'll usually say "Baby Abigail."
My parents, though, refer to her as Kumquat. I was sending them the Baby Center emails every week which compare the baby to a piece of fruit. They decided they like Kumquat best, so they're sticking with it. It cracks me up.
