Have to wait 3 1/2 weeks for 1st appt.! Normal?!

I found out Sunday that I was pg and called the dr. on monday. The nurse had to check with her to see when she wanted to see me (which I was thinking it would be right away) but she told me that not until I was 8 weeks. She did make a comment that because I've only had 1 m/c that's why but I am just worried that we might miss something. Is this normal procedure for a pregnancy after miscarriage or should I be having something done sooner? My m/c was not discovered until @ 11 weeks last time and I feel as though we could have caught it earlier had I had the early u/s like I had wanted. I know I'm going to more of a worrier this time around but I want this pregnancy to work out soo bad. Thanks for reading this, sorry it was so long! I haven't told anyone yet that I can really talk to!

    I don't think that is normal procedure at all! My doc saw me that same day as my BFP... I would request b/w to be done!

    I didn't go in the first time until 8 weeks. That is standard at my OB's office. This time though he told me I can come in as often as I need. Maybe you can call again and say you are worried?

    I went in the first time at 6wks 4 days. This time around since I had an e/p he saw me the day of my BFP

    Thanks girls for your inputs. Maybe I'll wait and see how I feel by the end of the week. I don't feel very pregnant yet so if that continues I'll def. call the doctor. I'm just so emotional with everything right now that it's not helping matters.

    Standard is 12 wks (which I've always thought was too late) unless there's previous history with loss or high risk. They can bump it up to 5wks at the earliest (for a u/s) if there's any concern. It'll take some talking though. Gl.

    I would definitely request bloodwork! I've only had one m/c and my OB/GYN said my next pregnancy...he wanted BW done RIGHT away and he would see me after my second BW draw!  I would definitely call them today and make sure you can atleast get that done!  Even if it's just to calm your nerves!

    At my drs office they make you wait, too. ?The nurse talks to you over the phone about your questions and makes sure you have prenatals ?I don't go until April 14 and the same thing happened during my last pregnancy. ?If there is a problem, of course, I would go in before that. ?It's a long, hard wait! ?I'm already going crazy...

    I think that is normal....hate to say it, but my doc usually doesn't see me until I'm further along. I did go in for b/w though. If I were you, I'd at least have my HCG numbers checked! With my 2nd- 4th m/c's they never saw me right away b/c my body was always able to expell everything on it's own, and there's nothing they can do that early (what they kept telling me). I'm sure everything is fine, I'd just call back and politely ask to come in for b/w just for peace of mind!! GL hun!!
