cloth diapers

Does anyone know of a place that sells different kinds of cloth diapers and diaper covers in the area?

Re: cloth diapers

  • you can try

    https://familybirthmark.com at their Media location

our local Babies R Us has some...but it is mostly basic items

Lastly...check out the Eco Friendly Family board...they have lots of postings for online places too.

  • Thanks, I will check it out.  I got some online but now that I have tried them and like them, I find that I need to buy more and was hoping to find some locally.
  • There is a new place called Yum and Bum that opened on the Main Line in Wayne. I haven't been there yet but I hear they carry cloth diapers. I got my diaper covers at Birthmark in Media.
  • I went to DiaperWare in Aston, right at 452/concord/knowlton rd. Inge was great and really took time to explain and show the different types to me.  She also only let me buy 20 diapers and told me to figure out which ones work best for my baby before buying any more.

You'll need to email her to make an appointment to come in-- inge at diaperware dot com.  Her website is full of info too.

The tricky part now is that not all of the day cares allow cloth diapers.  Goddard School, Malvern School, and Bright Horizons have all said they will allow the all-in-ones, but they're a little farther from my house.

I second the recommendation about checking with Day Care (if you will be going that route) .   We will be using a Goddard School in Wilmington, DE.  They are still "researching" the all-in-ones - in particular the BumGenius.  However, they will allow the GDiaper (gdiaper.com and found at babies r us and whole foods).  Mostly because you can use a disposable, but enviro friendly insert, at day care.  We will use cloth inserts with the gdiaper at home.  HTH!

  • Right now Yum & Bum only carries Fuzzi Bunz, but the owner guy is hosting a cloth diapering "meeting" next Friday (April 17th). He encouraged me to attend when I was there yesterday. A bunch of moms who cloth diaper will be there to talk about what they like/don't like and based on the discussion he will expand his selection for the store.
  • I just ordered a bunch of covers from Kelly's Closet, but I should check out the place in Aston. Does she carry snappis? That is the one thing I am hunting for and would rather not have to order online...
  • Yes, she has snappis.  You can order on her website but pick up there instead of having them delivered, or you can just make an appointment to go, see what she has, and pick out what you want in person.  She was soo helpful.

I need to go back too to get some snappis and wet laundry bags.

  • We talked Beth at Goddard about Bumgenius all in ones and she told me that she'd make it work if it was going to be a dealbreaker for us.

Unfortunately, as much as I loved Goddard, it's only convenient for my husband, so we're going to use EEI Inc (https://www.eecinc.org/), who also say they have no problems with cloth diapers- we just need to bring a wet bag and a bin and take home the dirties every night.  Kindercare is the only one that has said no.
