Inductions?

hi just wanting to get a general idea of what to expect, i'm going into the doctor tomorrow and will be in my 7th day over. i havent had a history of hbp, or anything but last time it was slightly elevated, so we havent talked about inducing before, but i was told if i were still pregnant by tomorrow that we would talk induction. if any of you had similar situations can you let me know what happened, normal pregnancy, week over due date, last time i was 3cm, and 60%efaced but very ripe, -2 station. i'm hoping he'll send me ovr to the hosp to start pitocin since he said 3 weeks ago i did not need any ripening, just contractionsor spontanious rupture of membranes. anyways thanks in advance for any experiences

Re: Inductions?

  • I was induced at 41 weeks. I only need pitocin cause I was between 1-2 cm and 70% effaced.  They broke my water and started pitocin and my entire labor was only 6.5 hours and I only pushed for 25 minutes. It went great- GL!!!!

  • I was induced.  I went in at 6 am and had my DD at 4:20 pm that day.  I had a great induction experience (also thanks to the epidural).  I have a quick birth story in my bio.

  • i was induced at 39 weeks for due to GD. i was actually sent to the hosp by the PA in my OB's office a few days prior for elevated bp and protein in my urine, but the hosp sent me home since they didn't think it was serious enough. so i arrived on my scheduled induction day (3 friggin days later) and things were quite smooth. i was already 3-4 cm and 75% and contracting lightly on my own, so i was never given pitocin. they broke my water at 11:00 am and i was pushing by 12:50 pm, DS popped out at 2:30 pm. it was pretty fast and furious once my water was broken. heads up- when your water is broken, the contractions are a totally different ballgame- be prepared!

side note- i ended up having pp preeclampsia, which is pretty rare, but i thought what a coincidence since my bp was a little high at my last OB appt. i also never had a history so it was a little strange.
