2nd Trimester

Have you bought a maternity swimsuit?

I am looking to get one on ON.com.  Their size chart says to get a small if you were a small pre-pregnancy.  I am just wondering if the maternity size allows for our bigger bustlines.  Anyone?

  • GOOD GOD... No!!  If I put on a bathing suit, someone might mistake me for a whale and harpoon me!!  LOL

  • I wish I could be of any help, but I have a hard enough time finding suits that hold the sweaterpuppies in pre-pg...I doubt I'll be able to find one that fits me now either.

I'd imagine they're taking bigger boobage into account at ON.  Maybe get a halter style to make sure they're being held in a little better?

  • I was a medium/large pre-pregnancy - and seem to be fitting the medium maternity sizes so far. I ordered my first maternity swimwear from Target a few days ago - here's hoping things fit ok. I am more afraid that I wont fit the medium bottom all that well...sigh.?

That is my concern as well. But... I hear "beached whale" is the new black so maybe we'll be ok. :)

  • I tried on an XL that was tight in the boobs. I am a 38DD and I'm sure I will continue to grow.  If you can, you should try some on first.

  • Hell no, I can live without swimming for one summer.  I am so embarrassed for pregnant women that wear bikini's. No one wants to see that.  Just my opinion!
  • I actually did get a suit from ON.  I'd say the boobs are fine.  I got a halter style tankini.  Now, keep in mind I have largish boobs as is and they only got a little bigger with pregnancy.   If you have totally maxed out over a cup or so, I'm not sure the one I got would work.

I'm not happy to wear the suit but many of our friends and family have pools and DH family has a modest beach house.  I don't think I could NOT have one.

Not that I looked all the great in a suit pre-preg.

  • I have D boobs and I just got a tankini top from Motherhood. The website said I should be able to fit into a small. I went to the store and a medium fit much better with the ladies. I would probably go up a size.

  • Not yet... but I will be soon. There is no way I'm going a whole summer without the pool or the lake. I think pregnant ladies look cute in the tankinis.... I'm all about being in the water and how wonderful it probably feels when you are hot and huge like I will be this summer.

  • No, I think I will definitely wait and see?how I look and feel?before buying a swimsuit for the summer.?
  • I'm going to Florida in early May and plan to wait until the weekend before to buy a suit. I want to be able to try on the suit?prob. Target or Destination Maternity, which are the closest stores that have maternity clothes in store for me.

  • No, I haven't gotten a maternity bathing suit, and I don't plan on it. ?I have no clue how I am going to pull off swimming without a maternity suit, or getting half naked for that matter, but I am bound and determined... ?*runs to grab paper and a pencil to sketch the impossible beach outfit that will keep me covered but allow me to swim*
  • I'm not a prude by any means, I've worn a bikini since I was 12 years old, but I just can't see myself exposing my huge pregnant belly to the world. I think I'll stick to a tube top/tank top and my bikini bottoms.
  • I ordered one from Target last week but for some reason the estimated ship date is the middle of April.  It doesn't say anything about being back ordered so I don't know what the deal is.  It's a good thing I don't need it right away.
