Re: 19 weeks and still no belly

  • See belly pics in my bio...I didn't get a real baby belly until 20 weeks or so.

There are quite a few of us.
  • Are you tall, and or chubby? I am both, so I am not expecting a bump until about 20 weeks. I do get a little jealous when I see the gorgious skinny beeches with their cute 16-18 week bumps Big Smile

I'm tall...6'0 to be exact.  I know it's not uncommon...just wondering who else is waiting for their bump.  :)

  • I had a tiny one but it was not noticeable until 2 weeks ago around 20 weeks and I do have a short torso so I thought I would show sooner...everyeone is different..all I can say is enjoy the freedom of movement now!

  • I am having twins and I really didn't have a belly until about 21 weeks. After the start of a bump it really took off though. I look like i'm full term now.
  • Pic in siggy is from 17 weeks. I am now 19 weeks and there isn't any change. Not huge at all. I get a lot of funny looks thinking I am just gaining weight or have a major beer belly :)

You definitely have a baby belly IMO! I've got nothin' like that!

  • i'm tiny to begin with and with my first, i didn't show at all until much later than that.
  • mine seems to come and go but it will come!
  • I have this "theory" if you will based on my experience and people onthis board talking:

if you are super thin (like totally flat belly) you tend to show later.  Those who are tall and/or on the more overweight side also tend to show later. Those more petite or in the middle (weight wise) seem to show earlier.

  • No worries. I'm just 20 weeks today and I am just sporting a little round tummy. Everyone's different, so don't panic (that's what I did), and all these lovely bump ladies reassured me that I'd get it sooner than later! :o)

Ditto.  Mine is starting to stick around though, so it's becoming less bloat and more belly.  However, DH and I are the only ones that can tell...and it's only when I am not wearing any clothes.  I am tiny to begin with, so my "baby belly" looks just like anyone else's normal stomach.  *Sigh*  At least I can tell a change is going on.  I think it is going to be a long time though before anyone else can tell!

With my 1st pregnancy, I remember that at 18-19 weeks, some strangers could tell I was pregnant, but at 21 weeks- I totally popped out.  Meaning my belly moved up higher and out further.  Popping means your uterus has popped up over your belly button inside.
  • Welcome to the team! (see siggy)

I do have to say your theory doesn't apply to me. I am fairly tall 5'8 and was very thin and I showed very, very early.

I don't think there is one "theory". I think it all depends on structure in concert with your internal anatomy.

  • I don't really have one yet. I can sort of tell, just because my pants don't fit, but mostly I just look like my regular belly got a bit bigger. I figured since I'm a chubster, it'll take a little longer.

  • My son is 8 1/2 months old - I am 19 weeks pregnant.  Just setting up the belly situation here.  I was always told your 2nd baby you shower quicker.  I would think this would be the case since he is still so young.  I didn't start to show with my son until at least 5 month...and that was just a bit of pudge.  I am still wearing my normal jeans buttoned and all - seriously?  Not totally complaining - it's just weird, and makes me a tad worried, but not enough that I care.  I'm pretty average - 5'5 - 120 LBS before first Dr. appointment.  At my last appointment  I had only gained 1 pound.  Then again, I do have to walk everywhere I go and it's all uphill, maybe that has something to do with my lack of weight gain?  Totlly not alone in the flat belly department.  Haven't even told anyone really that we're expecting (again!) and no one even would notice.
  • Im almost 18 weeks and have no belly. I better get one in the next couple of weeks....or else!!! lol
