Pregnant after a Loss

Is there any hope? Betas not doubling

My beta on 3/11/09 was 235 , which had more than doubled from 3/9/09. My beta on 3/16/09 w3as only 652.? So not even close considering how many days later. My progesterone also dropped from 16.9 to 15. something. even on 200mg prometrium.??
My RE nurse is sending me for more bloodwork tomorrow but she's worried too.? It should of been over 1000 by now.?
Please be honest with me, do I have any hope or will this be our 3rd miscarriage in a year?? We have been trying since May of 2007 so not only am I cursed with IF, I can't even carry a baby once I make one.?
My husband is in CA for the week (i'm in OH). I'm supposed to leave for FL for my SIL wedding on Monday.? I hate life right now.?

I'm so sorry honey. I will say prayers for you and hope for the best. I don't know what it all means, but please let us know the results of your BW tomorrow.

  • According to the betabase.info calculator, your doubling time is about 80 hours.  They usually like to see betas double within 48-72 hours, so you aren't too far outside of that.  Remember your mantras: you are pg until your Dr. tells you otherwise.  I can't imagine the anxiety, fear, and sadness you're feeling as you wait in limbo, but try not to get ahead of yourself and start mourning a baby that may be okay; wait until your next round of betas and talk to your Dr. then.  Best wishes.
  • Like PP said your doubling time is 80 ish hours and depending on the time you had both draws it can make a difference.  Like if youhad one draw at night than the next one in the am etc.  Don't loose hope yet.  I'm pretty sure I saw a few people on here who's beta's didn't dhouble completely and they are fine.  GL with you next draw and I hope your numbers look great!

  • I hope you get good news from your doctor after your next blood draw...and I would try not to stress too much until then (which I am sure is nearly impossible)...I have my fingers crossed for you.
  • Yay!!! I hope she comes soon for you!!!
