3rd Trimester

Who else can't sit at their desk?

I've started experiencing more back pain as this baby has gotten bigger, but this week especially I've found it so hard to sit at my desk! I can't barely stand to sit here longer than 30 min it seems. Anyone else having an awful time with their back and sitting at their desk?

Re: Who else can't sit at their desk?

  • Get a heating pad. It has worked for me at home. I'm thinking about getting a second one for work. They're only, like, $12 at Target for the cheap ones. AND they keep you warm if you're feeling a little chilly. (I know, I know. Us? Cold? Nah. But sometimes in the early morning before I fully wake up.)

  • I'm just restless in general, so yes.

Also, what does the "ND" in your screen name stand for? Wink

  • It's weird, but I'm fine sitting, it's when I have to get up to walk around that I start being uncomfortable.

  • Yes!  I've been uncomfortable at my desk for the last few weeks.  Luckily, this is my last week in the office.  Then I start working from home and I can lay in bed with my laptop.  I can't wait!

  • Oh, yes! Definitely me! My back has been killing me lately because these office chairs are awful. I'm counting down the weeks until I'm done here! (Then I'll be working from home from 38 weeks on, even after baby is born, so no more office for me. Yay!)

  • You aren't alone! My legs bother me throughout the day (I got a foot stool to try and help). But at the end of the day it's my back that is the most sore.  A heating pad might be a good idea.

  • I have a heating pad for my chair.  As well as a backrest and a footstool.  Those help a little.  I try to get up and walk around, even if just to the bathroom once every hour or so to keep up circlulation.
  • Well glad I'm not alone! I've thought about a heating pad don't know if i can really sit with it on my back all the time in a desk chair. Luckily I can work from home some days if I need to (which really would be like every day) but I know I can't do that. Just makes me wish even more I was already out on leave!

p.s. The ND in my name is b/c I graduated from there in 2004.

  • Now days anything hurts my back. And yes this computer chair at the computer is a heart breaker. Its always in my lower back. Even sitting on the couch hurts ma back. I fell like nothing will every be comfortable again until she is out of me. I do have bad posture I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
