Hoping for a late baby...any ideas?

DDs birthday is Thursday, March 19! and her party is Saturday...she turns 1 so its a big deal. Well, I am due April 4th but am already feeling "ready to pop".

Any thoughts on keeping the little one in the oven a little longer, at least another week?

I would just try and take it as easy as possible.

I would avoid all the things that everyone does to initiate labor. Walking a lot, eating spicy food, etc...You never know if those things really work or not, but it's worth avoiding if you want to keep it in there!

LOL....I'm in the same predicament!! I'm due April 16th. If the baby is late, my maternity leave could lead me right into summer vacation (I'm a teacher). I don't want to have to go back to work for a week or two in June.

Wish I had some ideas for you. I think that the previous post hit the nail on the head. Avoid anything that possibly could make the baby come (even the old wives' tales). But unfortunately, the baby will come when the baby wants to come. Good luck!
