I'm leaning towards buying an upholstered one rather than the wooden ones with the padding but still haven't decided completely. I know comfort should really be my deciding factor...but I've found some really comfy ones in each style!
Do you use your glider often?
What kind of glider do you have and would you recommend it?
Also, where did you buy/order yours?
Re: glider/rocker questions...
We actually decided to get a big comfy oversized chair rather than a glider. It translates better into kid-hood, IMO. A glider seems distinctly like nursery furniture, but she will have this chair in her room for a long time. Just food for thought!
I use it every day, at least once now that I am back at work, even more before when I was home. I am SO happy we splurged on it, especially getting an ottoman (I debated that a lot)

So Tasty, So Yummy
We have an upholstered glider and it is STILL used daily (part of our going to bed routine is reading books with K sitting in our lap in the chair).
Best $$$ ever spent, hands down!
It was my sister's and she got it custom from USA Baby in Dallas.
we have an upholstered one as well. we loved it. right now it's in our bedroom covered in clothes but that will change soon enough. we looked long and hard to find one that looked more like a real chair and went with our style (we'r emore modern, where most gliders are very traditional). b/c we got something taht doesn't scream "baby" we were not hesitant to spend more money on it.

I have one of each and like them both. The wooden glider has a matching wooden footstool that also glides. The upholstered chair both rocks and swivels. I wish it had an ottoman to match
Both the glider and the rocker were used furniture. I had the rocker re-covered to match the nursery bedding and it's probably my favorite.
