Noah and Kate have colds. Kate's nearly over hers, and is on antibiotics, but Noah is a wreck. I took him to the doctor to find out it was nothing more than a cold but that if my pediatrician were in my shoes he wouldn't have a bunch of little ones over before next week. Unfortunately the photo GTG is this week.
So here are my thoughts. I know a lot of you have planned your schedule around the GTG, have taken off from work, arranged carpools, and are looking forward to seeing everyone. I would feel horrible if we had to cancel it. I was wondering if you wanted to change the location. If anyone wants to open their home, great, if not, there is a great park in Boca that would work well. It's called Veteran's Park, it's always empty, there are picnic benches, big open grass fields, and a playground. It's just east of 441 on Palmetto Park Road. It's centrally located for the other 3 photographers that offered to come and this way we could still move forward as planned. But I also realize that it's hot out and some people are bringing itty bitty babies. The other option would be to postpone the GTG. I'm happy to have it here whenever, I just don't want you to bring your healthy kids to a sick house because I would feel even worse if they caught anything.
Let me know what your thoughts are. I figure majority wins. Sound good? I'm so sorry to have to change anything!
Re: My kids are sick! *Photo GTG*
Right now, Nadia has a cold. It's not really bad- but it's she's sick. She has the sniffles and her eyes are teary. This is also happening while she is MISERABLE about her teeth. (Not sure if these things are connected or not). I've been praying all weekend that she's all better (and happy again) by Thursday. I have two great photo outfits for her and I really want to enlarge a "Yap Original" to display at her Baptism reception. ;-)
I would be beyond happy if we postponed because she'd have time to get over her cold.
It doesn't bother me that Noah has a cold. Zoe is around boogery kids all the time. She gets it sometimes, and other times she doesn't. But i'm sure those with younger babies might feel differently.
I would prefer it stay at your house this week, if that was one of the options!? If not, then postponing it would be better than a park. Just cause it might be hot to be out there for a long time, and stuff.
I'm fine with either option. Most everyone I know is sick or getting over a cold so like Melanie I have no problems being around them just because we are used to it since Mikey is in daycare. BUT I can totally see mommies of the itty bitty ones having a problem with that. Plus I'm sure they'd have a problem with being outside for a long period of time because its so freaking hot out! But I have no problems with that because I'm past that stage.
I know I'm of NO help Dawn.
Having it here on Thursday is definitely still an option, for those that are ok with kids getting over a cold. I'm sure we're in the worst of it now and no one would even know by Thursday but I didn't want to be a hypocrite after my last post. Those of you with itty bitty's or who aren't comfortable let me know and maybe we can do a "Take Three" in a few weeks. FWIW, Noah is antisocial anyway and I promise he won't touch anyone's kid - he probably won't even speak to anyone with new people around!
Sorry for the drama!
I have an itty bitty one...who is getting her first set of shots on Wednesday so I'd love to come but maybe on another day or at the park. I wouldn't want to bring Madison around anyone that is sick right now...if she was a little older it would be different.
I hope Noah feels better soon! Let me know if you are doing a take 3 or if it is at the park, which is close to my house. If not, I hope everyone has a great time this week
I'm reading everyone's posts, and I am totally okay with still going to your house on Thursday as long as no one minds that Nadia will probably be just over (or getting over) her sniffles. She isn't mobile- so she won't touch anybody. ;-)
ditto! as long as the mommies with sick babies don't touch abby
i've got an industrial size of antibacterial stuff in my diaper bag!
Ohhhhh, I'm so sorry to hear your kids are both sick, Dawn!?
I might have to think about this one. Chase is only two months old so I'm not sure yet how I feel about bringing him if anyone is sick. Maybe I will wait until Thursday morning to decide - depending on if Noah feels better or still has the sniffles.?
I feel bad because I am one of the photographers, but this is also the first time I would be bringing Chase out "amongst other babies" so I don't know yet.
I know a lot of you still plan to attend with your older babies, so you probably don't worry about these things - but I know you were all in my position once. Since Chase is still "itty-bitty," I am probably more anal about these things than others
