Babies: 9 - 12 Months

When do YOU go to bed?

I go to bed right after we put ds to bed - somewhere around 8PM. I might read a magazine, watch a little tv or talk with dh - but then I close my eyes and go to sleep (rarely make it to 10PM). I do it because I work during the week and am tired after picking up ds from my mom's, getting home, eating, dealing with ds's bedtime routine, making bottles for the next day, etc. I don't think it's that weird - but my mom and siblings think I'm nuts - they can't understand why I go to bed so early.

When do you turn in for the night?

Re: When do YOU go to bed?

  • I'm usually up until 10 but occassionally I go to bed around 8.  I get up for work at 4 am so I don't get a heck of a lot of sleep.

  • i would LOVE to go to bed by 8. but DD rarely goes to bed til 8:30. then theres the picking up i have to do (DH doesnt help much, and is gone in the evenings a lot anyway). by the time i get her down, and get stuff together for the next day, and pick up, its usually 10.  my DH bowls on friday nights and usually doesnt come home afterwards (far away bowling alley, and he drinks. oops) so i take advantage. i figure i have no work to get ready for the next day, and the whole weekend to clean. so i try to get DD down, eat my own dinner, and then take a bath, or just lay down by about 9.
  • DH and I go to bed between 11pm and 1am, depending on the night and what we have going on the next day. The kids wake up between 7 and 8am, and DD has preschool Tues and Wed at 8am so we typically get up at around 7:15 most days. We did this even when the kids were waking up to eat 2-3 times per night.

How much sleep do you usually get? I feel really weird and almost drugged if I get more than 10 hours (not that that's happened much in the last few years lol!). I dont think you're "nuts" to go to bed at 8pm, but I do think it's kind of strange Smile

  • I don't think I'll continue this forever - but I'm still in the "my baby sleeps through the night but I don't because I listen to him breathing on the monitor" stage! I "wake up" numerous times during the night, look at the clock, listen to the monitor and go back to sleep - so I'm not getting great sleep. And I wake up at 6 for work.
  • I usually go to bed around 10pm. DD gets up a couple times a night still and she wakes for the day by 7:30-8. I need a lot of sleep, I have always been a 'sleeper'.
  • 10 or 11pm.  I get up at 6am.
  • we go to bed betw 9 and 10.
  • We usually go to bed around 8:30-9:00.  DH leaves for work at 5:15, and I get up and make his lunch and coffee (don't I sound domestic?) and chat with him before he goes.  I do the picking up/laundry and housework in the morning before DS wakes up (around 6:30), and I get us ready and get to work by 8:00.
  • 11:30pm. I am a college student and have my own freelance company. So, there is much to accomplish prior to bed for me.
  • 10 PM- the same time we did pre-baby. We really should go earlier too as I am always exhausted, but we never seem to get to bed early! 5:30 AM comes too soon...esp. when you don't get to bed until at least 10 PM!

I remember when my stepmother had my little sister and brother. They all would be in bed by 8 PM.

  • i get up anywhere from  445 to 515 am...and i usually go to bed no later than 11pm, and get up 1 or 2 times with the babe.  it's a little bit of a rough schedule, but i always feel like i need to "wind down" with DH after DS goes to bed.  and i often nap with DS in the afternoon after work.  i work 6am til 1pm.

  • Around 11:30. My goal is always 11pm, but for some reason it always ends up later. I SAH and get up around 7 with my DS.

  • I try to be in bed by 10 (and would love to be asleep but always end up watching tv).  We get up anywhere between 6-7am and wake 1 time during the night for a feeding.
