If you FF, what type?

I've been buying Enfamil Enfacare which is terribly expensive.  My daughter is now almost 4.5 months old and I'm wondering if it would be safe for me to switch to either a generic brand or use one of the Enfamil formulas that can be purchased in a larger can?  I see my pedi on Thursday so I can ask her then but just wondered what everyone else is doing?  TIA

    My pedi wants Tyler to be on Neosure until he is on the charts for his actual age.  Definitely ask your pedi when you see her.

    Max was on Pregestimil in the NICU; at $38 a can, I told the doctors we needed to try something else, so we put him on Neosure when he came home.

    He's been on Neosure ever since, and will be on it until his actual 1st b-day, when we'll switch to GoodStart or some other standard formula, and then we'll switch to WCM at his adjusted 1st birthday.

    At 2.5 months, I asked the pedi if we could try a regular formula since DS was now at a full-term weight.  We were also on Enfacare and tired of the expense and trying to find it at stores in our area.  We first tried Similac Advance w/Early Shield, but it made DS too gassy.  Then we tried Enfamil Lipil in the yellow can.  He seems to be fine on that one and we can get it at Costco.  Good luck.

    MEK10976 - Thats exactly our problem too...the expense and that its terribly hard to find.  Most stores don't even carry it and then its about $15 a can and she runs through a can in 4 days...I'm hoping they allow us to switch to the Enfamil Lipil in the yellow can.  At least that comes in a large size and is cheaper than buying multiple small cans.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :)

    After DD hit her due date the pedi said we could switch to the regular Enfamil or Similac.  I used the several cans of samples I was given and then switched her to Costo's brand.  I get two large cans for less than $20.  The Similac rep said it's actually Similac's original formula.  We haven't had any problems.

    We switched to Target generic which is soooo much cheaper and have been happy with it.  We did switch her to Enfamil AR for a while due to reflux but we're back on the Target brand.

    We started with Target generic for Gentlease and it's worked great...

    We're on Neosure until they are 1 year adjusted.
