  Just Google free blog layouts and you can find a lot of them. They will usually tell you where to put them because some vary. I don't know if I'd use any of the pay-for-layouts, because most of the free ones are just as nice. Also, if you happen to read someone's blog who has a cool layout (not mine), right click and scroll down to "View Source" and it will tell you where the layout is from in the HTML.   I use cutestblogontheblock.com and it gives me REALLY easy directions.  You can get there by clicking the icon on the top left of my blog (excuse the boring-ness of the blog - I set it up to use once we got pg...but taking longer than we thought so I don't have much to say on it yet).
