How many gallons of whole milk do you go through in a week?

Geesh, I used to complain about buying formula all the time after K weaned, but wowza, this is nuts! I think I'm buying a 1/2 gallon every 2 or 3 days and K's the only one in the house who gets it. And I only buy organic and the closest grocery store to me only sells 1/2 gallons. I have to go out of my way to get a full gallon.

  • Maybe 1...I try to make sure DD gets enough milk everyday, but have a hard time. Especially if she is at daycare, she rarely drinks enough there.

  • We go through about the same amount as you.  Luckily, I can get a full gallon at the store close to the house.  :)

  • Maybe 3/4 a gallon (I buy 1/2 gallon containers) or so right now, but DS doesn't like milk much. Most of my neighbors have a milk delivery system, which I might consider if/when he drinks more. But for now, it's not a big deal to stop and pick some up.

  • About a gallon, maybe a little more, but J is the only one who uses it, except for a splash in our coffee some mornings.  FYI Target's house brand of milk comes from cows not treated with growth hormones etc.  It is a good less expensive option.

  • About a gallon and a half - DD LOVES milk!  We buy whole organic milk also and can only find it in 1/2 gallons.  I buy 3 every week and she usually goes through all of it.  It is ultra pasturized so it doesn't expire for a month or so.  Stock up!
  • We go through a gallon, maybe 1.5 gallons a week. But our oldest will drink a glass here and there too. Its still cheaper than formula by far. I buy 2 gallons of milk a week, its on sale all the time for 2 for $4 at some stores and 2 for $5 at others. So $4-5 a week compared to the 2 cans of formula DS went through a week at $16 a can, I will take it!
