yes, whole wheat should be fine. when things are labeled "wheat" bread it is really just white bread colored brown. Whole wheat bread is much higher in fiber and should help with constipation.

If it's a one-off kind of situation then you might be better served feeding pears or prunes.

No it is a regular issue. We keep it "under control" with prunes and pears and such. It was just suggested to switch from regular bread to whole wheat to keep it from happening. I think she is ok for a day and then wham it happens again.
