Great comment at Target today *eye rolling*

I know I know, we have all been there and constantly experience some winner comments/questions...there were a few, "Wow, are they twins?" to one, "Wow, you must have your hand full".

My favorite is this one, "are they boys?"

My girls have their ears pierced and the earrings are visible AND they were wearing head to toe pink.

LOL, I think......

  • You should've said, "Yes, they are, but we're hoping they'll be gay or transgendered!"

People are morons. I have 3 under 3 and get the full hands comments all the time.  I just smile and say it's better than them being empty.

  • I'm always surprised at the "are they twins" comments, especially with babies.   Why would I have two infants in a double stroller if they weren't twins.  Older kids I can understand because there could be a year difference and it would be hard to tell.  Good grief!

  • I was constantly asked if my girls were boys. One time they were in head to toe purple and a lady asked me why I had them in all blue if they were girls. Another time a lady told me, "Oh, well I was just going off how they were dressed." They were in pink skirts. I'm betting she was going off the "Daddy's Lucky Charm" baseball hats they were wearing and didn't even notice the skirts. It didn't help that my girls were bald until about a year ago. I got so tired of the "are they boys?" questions that I caved and got their ears pierced when they were 2.5 years instead of waiting until their 10th birthday.
  • LOL- i love the gay comment- that is a good one!

I had DS with me in Target once when he was an infant - in all blue- and this woman kept saying how beautiful "she" was, and how "She" was so cute, etc- I was like, HUH????  What is it with Target and gender idiots?? lol

  • My girls are quite identical and I can have them both dressed in pink and people will still ask me if one is a boy and one is a girl.  That always makes me wonder which one they think is the boy.

And I get the "are they twins?" question all the time.  I so want to come out with some smartass comment, but I never do, I just answer their questions.

I've decided people are just dumb when it comes to twins.

  • The best is when they ask if my boy/girl twins are identical.  Aside from the fact that they don't LOOK identical, he has a penis
  • honestly people are just stupid. Seriously, why do people even bother to comment or get into other people's business? UGH...I do like the transgender comment...that was awesome!
  • I always get the boy comment about Emily, and she always wears her huge bows on her head and has girly colors on!!  My hubby always tells the person saying it, "well yeah, we have a cute boy.  There is a new test that the pedi. can do when they are born to tell if they are going to be gay or not.  We had that done on him, and it says that he is gay, so we thought we would help him out."  Then walks away!!  It is hilarious!!!
  • LOL to all of you!

LOVE the transgendered comment and emmysmommy--I CANNOT stop laughing at your comment either! :-P

It is funny, but really kind of embarrasses me when he says it to people.  I always say that he is going to say it to the wrong person, and they are really going to get offended!

  • I get the "one boy and one girl?" question every time we leave the house - even if I dress my identical boys in identical little boy outfits. WTF, people?
  • who was it that said they tell people, when they ask "are they twins?" they said "No- they are identical cousins" - ?  I love that one, too.

but of course.... "Are you a whore?" is better, hahahahhaaa.

I used to get this all the time and even though my boys are definitely not identical, i still get the "oh and they're identical" comment, even at the hospital a doctor said- "are they identical?" i replied "no fraternal" and she again said "they're identical"

  • We finally braved it and took the girls to church today. From the moment we walked in the door the comments began. The greeter said "Are they twins or just really close together?" My response was, "they were really close together, only a minute apart." Then as we were walking through the lobby we heard so many people saying "oh twins, double trouble" and other comments to go along with that.?

  • People ask all the time if my girls, covered in pink and purple in their carseats with pink blankies, are boys.  People just don't think before talking sometimes.
