I am also posting this on the nursery board, but it is usually pretty slow over there. We are doing a nautical theme. I know I want a blue (not pale blue, more navyish), but not too dark. I want something that goes good with red and yellow accents. I love stuff like this picture from Etsy: https://tinyurl.com/ao2tbu.
We have a white Pail crib set and a white glider with yellow fabric. If we go with a darker blue, I will either break up the room with chair rail and crown molding or have wainscoting installed (depending on price - contracter looking at the room today!).
Thoughts on a shade of blue that won't be too dark, but still looks good a nautical room?
Thanks in advance!
Re: Blue wall color help!
If you're doing wainscoting you could go with a really dark blue and it wouldn't be overwhelming because you'd have the white (or wood tone) to balance it.
Check out this one:
And for a different approach:
We did a Navy nautical nursery with red and white accents and it is great!
We used Valspar Classic Navy paint from Lowes, did a tan rug, red recliner, white furniture and white wall stencils and everyone who sees it just loves it.
I am in the process of making red and white striped roman shades with navy and white starfish valances and it is all coming together so well. don't be scared of doing all Navy, or room was tiny and we really love it. I will post pics as soon as it is all done.
