time to have baby!!!

It was dec. 29th around 9 pm i started to get contractions at home. they hurt pretty bad but where about 20 minutes apart. it came to about 1:30 am and the contractions got pretty close together. instead of waking up the hubby, i get dressed and go downstairs, get on myspace and post "Im in Labor and bout to head to the hospital". around 2am i put the bags in the trunk of the car and go back upstairs to tell the hubby that i think im in labor and we will be leaving in a half hour. so 3:45 came around and hubby got dressed and we left.
At this point contraction where 3 min. apart.. I get to the hospital and walked up and down the stairs. so then i get a room and they checked me. i was 3-4 cm dilated. they asked if i wanted any meds and i said no i want to toughen it out.. they check again around 8 am and i was 7 cm's.. the nurse said i will most likely give birth around noo.. People kept walking in and out and asking "How u doing?" How do u think im doing, im in labor!! The only thing i looked forward to was seeing my baby boy for the first time.

So at about 9 am the nurse comes back in and says "We are going to break you water now" and things should speed up from there.. At 9:48 am i say i really need to push!!! get the doc in here now!!! The nurse checked and said you're fully dilated, but wait for the doctor to get here to start pushing.. i couldnt wait so we start pushing.. Nurse kept calling for the doctor and he said he was going up the elevator. i pushed for the 3rd time and the baby came out at 9:52 an, then the doc decided to come in and said wow congrats. he beat me here.. I gave birth to a healthy baby boy who weighed 7lbs 5oz and was 19 1/2 in long. Im proud to say it was a very happy day and that doctors dont always make it to the birth..

would you be willing to describe the type of pain/pressure you felt during contractions and delivery? i am having my first baby within the next week or so and am shooting for med-free...just curious to hear other's POV.
