OH dear...I lived in Chicago in 04-06 and I HATED St. Patrick's Day weekend and all the drunk people wandering around and yelling. I still love Chicago though and wish I could get DH to move there!!!!!!
CONGRATS on the upcoming closing though...SOOOOOOOO fun and exciting! I remember having butterflies in my stomach all day!
Yes, yes I am- well close anyway. Far enough away that I won't have to deal with the drunks though. An old client of mine lives about two blocks off Western. Poor lady. She goes to visit her parents every year on St.Patty's weekend
They have had signs up about "specials" at bars since last week. People are crazy nuts about this holiday around here!
OMG you're not kidding. We're on the north side (Loyola area) and the neighborhood bars all have lines out the door and around the corner for that disgusting green beer. Yechh. I'll stick to my Guinness at home.

LOL! What's funny is that I'm not a beer drinker. So when we went to the parade I brought my own drinks - raspberry vodka and sprite. Let me tell you, I was three sheets to the wind before more of the girls I was with!
Can you believe people bring their little kids to these parades? People are so obnoxious, I don't think I ever would.

I have gotten more drunk text messages tonight from sorority sisters that live there than ever.
I can imagine it gets old quickly.
we lived in chicago for 2 years and loved it, but during St. Patrick's celebrations i would've paid a lot of $ to be anywhere else.
congrats again on the house
