We found a bedding set that wasn't $500! as much as i loved some of the navy blue, white and green sets out there, it just wasn't worth it to me. i even did a little more research and some of the sets weren't even 100% cotton! most of them were 65% cotton, 35% polyester! We went to the big Pottery Barn Kids sale last nite (huge) and found this set...it's 100% cotton, really THICK quality pique (like a lacoste polo shirt) with navy blue trim. we totally fell in love with it and it was on crazy sale. we're going to pair it with some mix and match sheets...i'm looking for one with navy blue, light blue and green polkadots, but haven't found one yet. but it really can go with anything. we're even contemplating nixing the green and going with a very pale yellow accent color. anyway thought you girls may be interested. btw, don't buy the PBK sale sets online...because they're marked down even more onsale in the store itself.
Re: Navy blue/white girls...
Does it have a crib skirt? The trouble w/ a lot of the sets I am finding is I won't use a regular bumper and don't really care either way about the quilt so it looks like w/ that set, that is the only "navy and white" part about it so it would be pointless for me you know?
I think I may just go w/ the original plan of buying my own fabrics and having my Etsy girl make them.
Ok total change of plan
First off THANK YOU for the PSA! I just checked the set online and there IS a crib skirt and called my PBK and they're holding the coverlet/quilt ($29.99!), crib skirt (19.99!!) and bumper ($20 something?) for me! Hell, even if I don't use the bumper a ton for that cheap of price and that nice of bedding I figured i'd get it to make the set complete and look cute. I can't believe how cheap it all is.
Now i'll just look for some lime green dotted white sheets or something be good to go!
So much easier than ordering fabric and having it all made and if I can't end up finding the sheets I want, I will just order that fabric and have them made
Off to shower and hike up to PBK 45 min. away!
Yup, it feels soooo nice! I picked it up a little while ago and the bumper was $30, quilt $25 and skirt $20 - you just can't beat that!! and the fact that the quality is so good.
I'm either going to do (actually likely a mix of both) white sheets or just look for some other navy/white/green sheets that will go.
What color are you doing your walls? We planned on navy walls, but the navy in this bedding is so dark, I hope it will still look good. (though I'm glad it's a true navy b/c I ordered a "navy" diaper bag on sale at PBK a couple weeks ago and it's so NOT navy, it's ugly blue!)
I'm torn over what color walls to do as well. i wanted Navy blue walls (or top walls navy blue, under a chair rail, white), but i'm worried it'll look too nautical...not the look i'm going for. so now i'm thinking a medium colored blue. i really don't know! i don't think i want green walls or anything like that...i'd rather stick with a blue color palatte and use the green as an accent color. let me know what you're leaning towards. sounds like we have the same style...modern/transitional, but classic
Oh take a look at Migi Splash sheet at BRU...it's green polka dots!
Migi Splash Sheet
oh those sheets look perfect! Thanks!
Yeah, I think right now we're thinking navy walls with just a white chair rail. I think with all the other white furniture it won't look too dark and we have a lot of white trim around the closet, door, window too. But if it is, then we can always paint the bottom have a different color or something. I really don't want to do any other shades of blue except navy so it's hard. (We don't even know what we're having yet and I think navy works for a girl, but anything else might be too boyish).
