1st Trimester

When did your m/s start to go away?

I know that things are supposed to get better in the 2nd tri (even though I know that isn't the case for everyone).  It seems like my m/s has gotten worse this week.  I haven't puked, but YIKES the all day nauseousness is almost too much to handle.  It is making work almost unbearable.  And believe me, I've tried all the little cures, and some things work for a little while, but nothing really keeps it away.  I talked to my OB's nurse and she said they really won't prescribe Zofran or other meds unless I am not able to keep anything down.  That is ridiculus!  If there is something to help me, why not?  Is Zofran not very good for the baby?  Do the benefits have to out weigh the side effects?  Sorry.  I am sounding awfully whiny, but not only have I been dealing with my m/s hitting a peak, but also a terrible cold and allergies.  Plus, this week at work (and next week too) has been the big state tests (I am a teacher).  I just want to feel better!!  I hope I can get to feeling better this weekend.

Re: When did your m/s start to go away?

  • I'm whiney all the time, so other peoples whining doesnt phase me. I am hoping that my m/s goes away soon, I'm not as hopeful that it will go away right away since mine started at 7 1/2 weeks.

  • I feel like I was reading about myself with that post! It seriously is unbearable and I know exactly how you feel! Unfortunately, I have no advice to give. Just hoping it goes away soon.
  • You should start feeling better soon.  Mine started diminishing around 9 weeks...and it's gradually gotten better since then.  You've probably gone through the worst of it, hang in there!  It sucks, I know.  I do not want to ever be pregnant again because I do not want to feel as sick as I did ever, ever again!
  • Well not to make it sounds like it could get worse BUT it could.  I am almost 10 weeks and threw up A LOT tonight for the first time.  I have had m/s since 6 weeks....the kind that last all day.  It seems to hit its peak with me at 10 weeks and gets worse.  With my first pregnancy, I threw up until week 16 and was nausious until week 20.  None of the stuff they told me to try has worked with me either...not even Zofran.  Good Luck!  I hope you have a better experience.

  • Mine didn't stop til 16w, and I threw up every day starting at 7w!

Zofran can be really expensive, and why medicate something that isn't there (vomiting)? I know it's bad, but it could be a lot worse. I hope that it goes away for you soon!

OMG, I am so happy you posted. I was so sick since week 4 (really bad the last few) and it just disapeared two days ago.  I was really nervous because I alway heard 12/13 weeks and started thinking something was up.  I am not "perfect" but I feel much better.  I just hope it stays like this because I was starting to think never again.  I can handle this...
